i have a hard time believing that the race that raised elvis

    brought us jazz

    and the blues...

and nearly the entire cajun cookbook.

    could pump out this drek,
    this noise
which steals every catchy pseudo-tune it has from metal or pop.
and shares nothing enlightening or personal with its audience.
    because,
quite simply, it doesnt care for its audience.
    this cant be african american...

it MUST be the man doing this...

thats right... kanye is secretly white...

Ok I get it... This thread got JACKED... but back on topic
Here is what I got to replace it
    [IMG]
    Now Continue with the jacking
    Rap is good music
I don't care if you people like it or not
    Now
If you would like to test the waters and see if they don't have a song to show you a certain feeling towards a certain thing BESIDES sellin turnips on flatbed trucks
ok but possibly about their mama or love or anything like that
im sure I could point you in the direction of a song that does...
I can understand that alot of the older generation don't like rap ya know it is pretty new somewhere in the 80s I believe, mebe late 70s. But I don't run around saying that twisted sister is for homos just because I don't like their music and they dress like drag queens. Lets try and be a little more open minded towards other cultures.

I mean obviously, it was me...

    YOU were polite.

rap is hook theft... and even then, by the loosest terms used to define music, it is not music.

    words to look up.
    tonality.
    key.
    chords.
    time scheme.
    vocal training.
iambic meter.(oddly, rap used to be ALL about the meter)

and there is quite a lot of rap i enjoy... but all the rap-ists you mentioned are thieves, and even with the soundtheft, they suck.

*hisses like a kitty, shoots out of thread and up a wall.*

indeed, but from the current crop of "gimmie money G's" that are lacking in creativity and originality, its easy to forget this used to be a diverse inventive genre.

i dont hate all of any genre, but modern "hip-hop" is as close as i have gotten.

I really enjoyed that! is this recent?

that is also why i will never say i hate one genre entirely,

but i also dont know how many american youths will listen to that, instead of the overly commerical, derivative stale lil wayne brand of hiphop.

and i will also say, that was DEFINITeLY music, and the clean vocals at the end were great!
