Show me pictures of your best and worst snowmobiles.

Tell me the reasons why they are good or bad.

    My best snowmobile:
    2018 Skidoo Scandic SWT
Pro: excellent floatation, starts very well, pulls heavy loads, rarely gets stuck, nice 4 stroke engine
    Cons: heavy
    IMG_20200322_1500533.jpg

    My worst snowmobile:
    2007 Yamaha Venture Lite
Pro: good trail machine, nice 4 stroke engine
Cons: terrible off trail, got stuck easily, extremely heavy, ironic name (what's "lite"about this venture????), unreliable in cold weather (bad fuel pump relay)

Yes, lots of irony there... "lite". Unreliable in cold weather...

I used to snowmobile a lot when I was younger. My gramp always bought a new machine every couple of years and he'd take me out for day trips. The thing I miss were spending time with him and building a campfire for lunch. Then some friend's had a few machines so we'd always be goofing around on them, its the thing to do in Vermont. I miss it somewhat, but I can't tolerate the cold anymore.

I got my gramp's sled stuck a couple of times, thankfully he always had some tools on it so could unbury it enough to get going again. It was tough to move the thing around when you only weighed like 90 lbs.

I will see if I can find some pictures .
Worst sled for me was a 1978 Arctic cat Eltigre 440Z . 2 spark plugs per cylinder free air
When it ran , it was the fastest sled in town with its full cleated track
I have owned at least 50 sleds over the years

How many sleds did I sink and are now on the bottom of the lake ?? a few for sure

A picture of my grandson on his Vmax 600 triple . He is on it 24/7 running or not

Best is my '19 900 Turbo Enduro I currently own. Worst? Gosh, I can't think of a bad sled I've owned and I've had at least 20. If a sled ever gave me trouble it was due to my own negligence usually.

Anyway here is the 900T. Flashed to 200hp, Dalton adjustable clutch weights, buncha fancy farkels:

Reasons it's good? It goes 114 on radar but can tow my ice shack all day just fine, doesn't eat belts and if I stay out of the boost I can get great fuel economy for touring.

I can't think of any cons. I guess it's the most expensive sled I've ever bought, that's not great.

    Best sleds yet,
Worst would be my 07 Skidoo Summit X ,belt eating time bomb. Half a dozen trips as as many belts blown up, to dealer for clutching updates before ECM/brain died 30 days out of warranty.

Great sleds, I had a 17 Skandic 900 ace, before that a 98 polaris widetrak both used for trapping and ice fishing, sold the Skandic it about a year ago and did a 180 now have a 99 Tundra I think it weighs about half but goes damn near anywhere just not real fast.

stuff and things that make it better
Can't think of a worst and currently don't own one but I think my favorite was this 1973 Bolens Sprint 340. I was the second owner, all original, even the seat. Only really had it running well for one season before all the fuel lines started to deteriorate. Was fun to cruise around on trails and got lots of thumbs ups but sunk pretty easy in powder. Sold it to a guy that's opening a sled museum in Utah.20170915_162758.jpg

340? Oh yeah, that'll scare the ever loving crap out of you!

30mph on one of those is scarier than 100 on a new one!
