    I switched to synthetic awhile ago. I had read at some point that it was more ideal for boosted engines because it holds up better over longer intervals, given how boosted engines tend to run more rich which effects the oil. But if you're changing every 3k with conventional then I doubt its something to worry about. I go every 5k with synthetic, if I wasn't supercharged I'd probably run it closer to 8k.

    I use Pennzoil High Mileage 5w30 full synthetic, doesn't burn a drop or leak at all. I'm really only at 82k miles on the truck but because it's 15 years old I just put the high mileage formula in it every time.

    Bought it with 24k three years ago :D bone stock minus the supercharger, looked fresh off the 04 factory floor.

    She's seen a lot of rough miles since then though lol.
