You DO want some flex in the frame of a truck. If the truck frame is too rigid, things tend to snap. That's the reason tractor trailers have a lot of flex in their frames. All of that torque down low will snap off a lot of things ie; axles, diffs, cab mounts, etc...

As a prior diesel shop foreman I saw a lot of that happen on a regular basis and those trucks were stock.

If that truck has cooled seats and whatever that option is that shows overhead video of area surrounding the car, I would be sorely tempted to grab one. My only two beefs with my Tundra are gas mileage and parking it and I think that overhead video option would help parking and 3.5 gas mileage is better. I got my loan yesterday. Rates are stupid cheap. 2% at 71 months. Will not decide tho till I see and drive 2016 Tacoma.

Hands down the worst looking part of the truck IMO. Everything else is growing on me, except that grill. Looks like that blinged out chrome chain-link crap that all the GMCs have. Was hoping the TRD-OR would've had a more clandestine grill considering they brought back the black fender flares and such.

The perplexing thing about this gen 3 is how ugly it looks in some pics and how good it looks in others. I think it looks good in this pic.

Obviously our farm boy "seatbelt buckle Mike" never drove Land Cruiser, never heard about FJ cruiser, and its absolutely not aware of Jeeps, Land Rovers. All build with rigid frames... Oh the irony.
Not only they have rigid frames but they have rear disc brakes too.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H17FGXCkAYI

Oh and tidbit of information since their frames don't flex, don't rub the paint off welds they don't rust to shit in 6 years either...

Frames don't bend at welds. Welds don't bend. They break if anything. Heavy 15 ton truck frames are built to bend with the suspension, but only to a point. I'm guessing that's what the reviewer was getting at.

If they did not bend at welds they would have snapped when whole frame is bending like on video.
Frame is made out of the sandwiched metal. Two strips of metal when they are bending together they rub all the paint of each other where they contact. Once metal is exposed all it takes is little salt and moisture to create nice rusty hole....
Flexible frame is worst idea ever. No wonder Land Cruisers, FJ cruisers, 4runners Hilux and the rest dont have that... ... but those vehicles were engineered in Japan not by Michigan farm boy.

Instead of bendy frame, why not give the suspension more travel? Makes sense to seat belt mike apparently lol

That would require actual design work. What they did is take 2gen truck, got some student in China who used to work in Ford factory to change front and rear grills, and install engine and transmission from Chinese highlander.
Laugh that Americans will buy that anyway and call it a day.
cheapest "redesigning" since Ford redesigned Model T.
Lets face it Leepu and Pitbull do better redesigns..

    People keep saying that.

I think that what really happens is that the people who dislike it buy another truck or stay with their existing truck and stop going to the forum. The forum becomes an echo chamber for new owners who like the way it looks.

Ah, I thought you meant the frame was bending at the welds on the suspension, not along the space between the two pieces of metal. My bad. You are actually right there :D. I didn't even think of those two pieces of metal rubbing. I didn't see there was even paint between the two layers. I never noticed when I was drilling in my sliders. I'm sure there has to be something there. I hope...

Anyways the weld, IE where the two pieces of metal are fused, usually can't bend because usually the process yields a more brittle area of metal at the weld. I've never seen a weld bend, not even on large farm machinery, but I've seen plenty break.

Not a bad show, especially considering the new direction history channel has been taking the last few years with all the reality tv bull shit. It's like pimp my ride (meh.) and power block tv (yeah!) fucked lol
