Looking to put a 3” lift on my 2011 OR DC.

Need a lift that will be able to handle an ARB front bumper w/ winch, a Leer 100XQ or ARE Z series topper with racks and some rock rails. The leaf springs will need to handle many stops at the lumber yard, camping and off road trips. Hate when a truck sags under load.

This is a 200+ mile daily driver so want to keep my stock rims and tires to keep my gas costs down. Know that it will not look as good without the bigger tires but function is more important to me than aesthetics for now. And yes I know the extra weight up front won’t help the gas mileage either.

Here are ideas that I have gathered from TW.

    1. Total Chaos or Icon UCA’s?
    2. All-PRO Expedition Leaf springs?
    3. What about TC LCA’s and spindle gussets?
    4. What about heavy duty coil springs to support the bumper better?
    5. Shocks?? Icons, OME, FOX, Bilstein, Walker Evans?

Add whatever high quality manufactures you like.
Love the ride quality now but want the lift.
    Tell me what you think.

I have Dakar leafs they are more for offroading then weight if that helps.

I will be installing ICON extended travel CO's with my setup, allpro front and winch, they said it will handle the extra weight well. I also have the Allpro Exp rear leafs, they handle weight well from what i heard. I havent gotten a chance to put these on yet but will be doing so on Feb 12th. Right now im running OME coils (the heavy ones) and after about a year they arent holding up very well to the added weight up front i have alot of droop.
    Here is before the winch
    [IMG]
Heres after, you can tell it brought the front end down abit
    [IMG]

If you havent made a decision by the time i put the new suspension on ill let you know how it feels after everything

Looks to me now that the All-Pro Leaf springs are OME Dakar. Guess that is what you were getting at.
Did yours have the reversed leaves on the bottom? Again guessing you got the standard duty springs.
The expedition duty springs don't have the reversed leaves from what I can see in the pictures.

Ive got a complete OME setup on the way with dakar leafs and TC UCAs. After a lot of research, I decided that OME is the best for me because they are very functional and bomb-proof.

and with OME you can get the 886 coils to support the extra weight too

sorry for postin 3 in a row (should've read it all at once). The dakars and all-pro leafs are very different. The all-pro standard duty springs are made for flex, not extra weight and will sag pretty good if extra weight is added. The all-pro expedition springs are made for extra weight but they also flex well. The dakars are mostly made for carrying extra weight.

Love the truck! Yes please let me know how it all turns out and take some pics if you can. Won't be making my decision until I get more info.

What winch did you go with? Brand and model.

Am I correct that the All-Pro Expedition Springs are actually OME Dakar?

Thanks for the help, want to learn from guys like you and do this right the first time.
Can't wait until my truck looks like yours.

I am leaning toward OME myself because of exactly what you said.

Yeah, definitely don't want the standard duty for what I need.

When I do a search it shows that the All-Pro expedition are the OME Dakar's.
Expedition http://www.polyperformance.com/shop...u-Dakar-2-Lift-Rear-Leaf-Springs-p-25810.html They do show different lift heights though, 4" unloaded and 3" loaded on All-Pro site and 2 3/4" on this site not stating loads.
Maybe what they used to sell?

    Standard http://www.polyperformance.com/shop...ta-05-Tacoma-3-Lift-Leaf-Springs-p-20722.html

I am not not questioning you, just confused.
Let me know how your build goes, am very interested.

it seems that polyperformance is extremely confused. In the picture is the expedition packs by All-pro. The description is for the OME dakars. The title is a combination of both for some reason. To eliminate this confusion, go to www.allprooffroad.com and then go to www.arbusa.com . There you will get full descriptions from the manufacturers AKA the ones who know what the hell they are talking about. But I asure u, they are completely different.

Thanks man, i appreciate that. I just wish i woulda known about spacers and coilovers when i first started my truck so i woulda just bought new leafs and coilovers instead of spacers and AAL. Dont get me wrong those are ok, but i dont think they are the best option by anymeans

Here is the All Pro Expos that are in my garage, they arent the same as OME dakar's
    [IMG]

Yea ill definitely let you know how it feel and take some pictures, ill be happy to finally have my suspension where i want it.

The winch is a Tuff Stuff 12.5k its a cheap winch but works extremely well hell i dont have any complaints on it and ive used it in numerous situations.

And that box looks like a U-bolt flip kit from All-pro! I've got one sitting here too. It's actually the only new suspension component I have until I receive my setup from Wheelers.

Saw both of those as I was looking. They use the same picture for both products from the sites that I posted above as you can see, just thought they got lazy as a lot of web sites do and just show a stock picture. Thought they were showing the wrong picture for the standard.

Was thinking that All-Pro was just putting their name on the OME.

Thanks and I will go with the All-Pro Expedition from what you stated before.

As you can see in the picture ARB has four different versions of the OME Dakar's and states that they have different ones.
    http://www.arbusa.com/Products/Suspension-Systems/Emu-Dakar-Leaf-Springs/34.aspx

I have there catalog sitting on my coffee table, want to buy everything in it.

You are right that the two you have shown me are different.

Didn't want to pay more for just a renamed leaf spring.
