I am considering getting the 1/4" OEM TRD skid plate for my Taco.
What is your opinion/experience with it? Any pros/cons?

    Thanks!

I've given this some thought myself, but just don't have the gumption to press the "buy" button lol. They're expensive, but I really do like that TRD look.

Even a big curb at the mall would crush the non trd stock skid plate. Anything 1/4" alum or steel would be better.

@Tacotoast: the sl-rated duratracs are light enough that they put up similar numbers, maybe better vs comparable street tires, plus i like the look. again, the skidplate like i mentioned is for looks only, which looks at home on the taco anyways. way the hell better that that chin spoiler the sport came stock with and definately looks better than nothing there. my house is in a rural neighborhood with no street lights coming or going for miles. perfect for me when no traffic about as i can light up a nice sector and make sure no wild goats or boars is blitzing across the street. gimme a break chief. what else you gonna cry about. maybe my uws toolbox? guess what i dont use it for tools. its used for access storage that i can keep things weatherproof and secured if need be. i left you a pic below, in case you have anything else you wanna mope about lol.

@Everest: yeah itll look good on your truck! as a fellow sport owner, i knew i was gonna remove the chin strap our trucks came stock with, but didnt want to leave the front bare. while it sits low it looks fantastic on a head on shot. it does have some weight to it, but nothing to be concerned about. i got it installed one speed and had it for several months now and didnt notice any hit to the mpgs.

How many people run their Vetts on race truck? (most can barely fit inside due to their enormous sizes - but that another story). How many truck users really use their machines as intended? Since when trucks are meant for off-roading? I actually dont get a joke why would you want to buy $40k truck, accessorize it for another $20k just to take it on the rocks.
Yes, Japanese are laughing at us all - we put big $$$$ in their pockets by buying something we most likely not need!

I have it on mine. No regrets. Of course it looks great but its functional to. I wheel my truck pretty regularly and the protection it offers is 100x better than the stock piece of pot metal they come with.

@Everest: i got these off a 2019 4runner trd offroad. theres actually two different variants of this same wheel. the 2016+ trd offroads came with the piano black paint between the spokes. the 2014-2015 (i think) 4runner trail came with the exact same wheel but it was all silver. the size and offset for these is 17x7.5 et:12 which pushes it pretty straight up with the fender; it looks clean. i paired this wheel with an sl-rated toyo open country atii. so all in all a pretty light setup. unfortunately, when i bought my scs wheels i sold this bundle. i do regret it, so when i come across another set im gonna swipe it and just throw it in storage or something lol.
