I like a matte finish tire dressing. Not too big of a fan of a high gloss shine on an off road vehicle.

Been using aero cosmetic rubber care for awhile now and love it.

gives rubber a deep matte black look.

    what’s your favorite?

I'll have to check out aero cosmetics, I'm not a fan of shiny tires.

Works great on black plastic trim parts as well. I use it on my bed cover to restore a black look on it too.

Water and soap works well enough if you're just looking for a matte black look.

Water and soap clean gives the rubber on my tires an uneven yellow tinge to them in some areas.

None, I don't need salad oil on my tires. It seems like tire dressing just attracts more filth

I scrub off the brake dust and scmutz with Simple Green and a nylon brush. Rinse with water......air dry.....done.

I used tire schmear/shine once.....hated it. Could fathom no benefit. Just a lighter wallet.

Never an issue with the rubber "dry rotting" or damage, no perceived extra life.

Spend your $$$ if you wish. My dressing is water followed with air dry.

Yup. It’s nothing horrible but it is an uneven patch of rust/yellow color along the wall of the tire.

I don't care for tire dressings. All they do is attract dust on a dirt road. Had to wash the stuff off that the detail guys put on the tires at the dealership.

Here is a picture after my truck was fully detailed a few weeks ago. NV Car Care applied to the tires and this picture was taken 5 min after application. It is not silica based so it won't sling all over the paint and dries within immediately to this matte look.

    I prefer mud. :D

    20210415_181919_HDR_(1).jpg

Seriously, though. Any time I go through a car wash that puts tire shine on, it looks nice for a day and then looks like shit for a month from dirt sticking to it.

I avoid high shine for that reason. They are glue for all the junk on the road. Matte tire dressings don’t leave that sticky residue

That sounds a lot better than the types of tire shine I have experienced. I guess I wouldn't really mind that, but my truck is never clean for more than a few days at a time anyway LOL.

I don't use anything. My friend bought a set of 3rd Gen alloy wheels and whatever tires. He's giving me 4 almost new and 1 (spare) new set of 265 75 16 Duratracs.

I won't use anything on those either.
