Very cool... I thought maybe with the graphic design pursuits she was heading that direction. That's my stock and trade and am always looking for connections for freelance work. I wish her well in her new vocation!

I pull an 18' Ranger Bass Boat with my 05 Tacoma. It will yank that boat without any problems. People always think you need a full size truck to pull a boat. Not true! I had an 03 Tacoma(the smaller one) & it pulled the boat fine. I just couldn't stop with it. But the 05 stops fine.

Excellent! I've seen your interest in hunting... which is a very cool interest in this regard. I do a lot of work with hunting-related clients and find myself very busy at times - web design/packaging/print/etc. Between all that and the camo design, I have had to look elsewhere for assistance... and not always with success.

Kindred spirits in both worlds are in short supply. I'll definitely let you know when I can use backup... I believe you have to understand the hunting world before you can create for it... blood sports aren't for everyone and that translates in the designs.

Out of curiosity... I've seen the comments about guns... but do you bowhunt?

Are you looking forward to hunting season yet? From what I understand you all (or is it "y'all") have an early start and seasons that last forever compared to ours. October can't get here fast enough for me. I'm ready to start flinging arrows again.

I haven't tried a muzzleloader season yet, but I have considered it. I got bit by the bowhunting bug a few years ago and now make my own arrows and bowstrings and all that crap. And you're right about the stalking... I've had several dry seasons since then but I always enjoy the challenge.

I still break out the Ruger though... Nothing wrong with salvaging a season by reachin' out and touching one long distance. ;)

all hunting is awesome......but bowhunting is kinda primal in a way. i friggin love it......setting up the bow, dialing in the sights, everything. when it gets super cold, usually a while after bowseason has started, i take out my remington 7400,chambered in .270 and put some meat in the freezer if i havent already with my bow. muzzleloader is fun too..............one shot and you gotta make it count!! our season starts with bow, and it starts round the 2nd week of september. i cant wait for it!!

Amen to primal... and I shoot traditional... so there's no sights to set up. Preparation for me is just makin' sure I can hit still hit a pie plate at 20 yards. ;)

Hunting is an awesome experience though... nothing else like it. Now that it's getting hot here I'm already wishing for October. I do need put a line in the water though... my bass fishing gear needs a little dusting off. :D Sounds like a good plan for tomorrow actually.

have fun fishing man. im gonna do some catfishing next weekend. didnt have time to do so this weekend. i havent even put my boat in the water yet.......damn gas prices. definitely gonna do some bass fishing when i get time too.

traditional bow is awesome man. i love my compound and all, but the way you are hunting is the REAL challenge. i mean, bowhunting is a challenge anyway, but when you have no letoff at 55lbs or even 60lbs......now thats something.

definitely cant wait for cooler weather. i could care less if summer was over in a month............i like it and all, but bring on the cold weather!!!

DOOOOOOD... I hear ya on the gas prices. What's a gallon runnin out your way so far? We're at $3.86 and local news says we're low on the national average per gallon. I have friends in the marine biz and they're sucking wind this summer.

My archery setup is 57 pounds at 28" draw... and yer right... no let off. ;) That'll put lead in yer pencil fer shur. Attach that kinetic energy to a heavy Easton aluminum arrow with a Magnus BuzzCut on the bizness end, and you got some serious medicine to spread.

I'm like you though... I'm already looking forward to a little color in the trees besides green and hint of cool air in the breeze. My other half says most folks have four seasons... where I only have two... and too often they overlap. ;)

gas out here is right at $3.89 for regular, and $4.01 for mid......i aint even looking at the premium:D.

your bow setup is awesome. i have a pse nova, which i bought at a pawn shop for cheap. i learned myself to setup and shoot it. its also about a 28 inch draw, with 75% letoff. im shooting about 240 fps........not too bad for an older, and fast enuff to get the job done!! and im shooting radial x weave carbons, with 100 grain crimson talon broadheads. those are pretty nasty little blades there. great for blood trails. the magnus buzzcut looks like a pretty awesome head too. here is my first bow deer....got her last season!!

I saw that in the archery thread... congratulations on a good season! Bucks are great... but nothing beats zipping a cagey doe with an arrow. That's a lot of good venison ya got there!

PSE bows are great... you made a good choice there. I just sold a PSE Thunderbolt I got a few years back and it still competes with newer bows. The Nova was... and is... a great bow. 240 FPS is more than enough speed... just always remember that speed doesn't kill... arrow placement does. My bow lobs 'em out there at a lot less than that, but the heavy arrows hit like bricks and make big holes.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Crimson Talons... I'm a bit biased towards Magnus though. The CEO is a good friend of mine and I do a lot of design work for him. The BuzzCuts are nasty dudes... they're the only broadheads I ever consistently use a broadhead wrench with. I've sliced myself enough and not noticed to learn otherwise.

    Ah! another .243 fan!

My Ruger MK77 isn't the short mag, but i love how flexible the caliber is. I've dropped deer with it, then turned around and sent a parking ticket to coyotes and not mussed the pelt.

    Excellent choice!

yeah....bucks are awesome....but when you are like me and want meet in the freezer.......i'll take a doe any day. you can boil antlers all day....but ya cant eat them.:D

i have seen some good bucks in the years i have hunted, had some close opportunities too, but have quite connected yet. im not really the type to take a shot if i think i aint gonna make it, or if will be a hit or miss situation, i always say......there's next time.

LOL... I agree 100%... there ain't no amount of bbq sauce that will make horns taste good. It's always refreshing to find another hunter who isn't focused on the headgear and looks towards the grill as satisfaction.

I'm also the same way on the shot with a bow... i'll pass and let 'em go before taking the risky shot. Been there and done that and hated myself for days. Lost a good 8 point a couple seasons back with a shot too-far-back and lost the trail in a light rain. The deer and my arrow vanished like a fart in the wind. Now it has to be point-blank and broadside.

You're a conscientious hunter... you have my admiration and respect, tacomaman. I wish you all the best this coming season and hope you connect. May all your arrows fly straight and true.
