    One of the most popular software programs in the world is flawed.
    Adobe Systems has admitted that its Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 programs have been compromised and as a result your computer could be taken over by hackers. They can enter by hiding inside that pdf file.


    San Jose-based Adobe is not commenting on television, but has on its website. The company says it's working with virus fighters like Symantec and McAfee to combat the problem, and says it should have an update to its software program within a few weeks.
    Meanwhile, the advice this type of thing remains typical: Be extra careful when opening e-mail attachments -- even a well-meaning friend's .pdf file might be infected. Also, update your virus-fighting software programs, and, as always, be vigilant.
