My first car (the only thing I've had before my Taco) was a 1990 Ford Mustang LX Fastback. It only had a 2.3L- smallest they put in a Stang. I named him Pete Longstreet. (Whoever knows the person I named the Stang after wins everything in the world!) He sat in my backyard for 9 years, because my dad had disabled it back when it was still my Nonnie's- Dad didn't want Nonnie driving, because she was going senile. I put that car on the road a little less than a year ago, couldn't afford to take care of everything that was wrong with it. So... a few months ago, my Dad loaned Pete out to his friend- not my decision. Pete blew up on the interstate- literally. I got back a charred heap of metal. :p

Car I had before the Tacoma. 2003 Mazda6s 5 speed. It was loaded with leather, heated seats, sunroof, sport package, etc. and was fun to drive, but I don't miss it at all, except the 5 speed at times. Sold it to my cousin who wrapped it around a tree 6 months later.

No joke, I did the same thing. Sold it and picked it back up. For a lot less than I sold it for the first time. It was a mid 12 car when I sold it the first time. Second time around it went 10.1 @ 149 before we were kicked off the track for not having a cage. That was street tires too. We were in the pits putting drag radials on, kind of a bummer. I didn't want to ditch the fact it was a street car with full leather and didn't want to ruin that. I WILL own another at some point. Straight drag car this time though.

The Galant VR4's came with the same 4G63 as the Eclipse/Talon/Lasers in the first gen DSM's. Rally - maybe, street - yes!

Like I said, it's going to be a drag car, but will also still have full interior. But a cage this time, and will dip WELL into the 9's, with traps upwards of the 160's.

Street cars are a must! It will be street driven, registered, and raced... No doubt about it.

They do come factory with it, but that is one of the first things to go. That, ABS, PS, and AC. They are pigs from the factory and have to shed some of that unwanted weight.

It might be different with the 3SI's, but I ran RRE Coilover's right from the get go with custom rates to dial in launches. Never had to deal with that. I only had to mess with how much I wanted to physically mess up a launch. Got them down into the 1.5 range for a 60' on street tires with though. Could only imagine close to 700whp, studderbox, and drag radials. It's going to get nutty here in a few years.

Well, on 35lbs of boost we made 519/435. We put quite a bit more time into a tune and another 15lbs of boost. We literally pulled the wastegate line to see how much boost we could get and that's what we tuned on. At the most, we were getting 50. To this day, I don't know how I wasn't lifting the head off the block but I will attribute most of it to the guy that was tuning for me. One of the biggest problems with the setups that people alike are running is the drivetrain but it was solid front to rear. TRE built tranny, TRE transfer case with a quaife and a 4 bold LSD rear. Other than that, it was a simple closed deck, cast iron block. Bored over of course with pistons, rods, ARP hardware, etc. You get the idea. The 700 is a butt dyno estimate, but I was beating cars with more than that let alone bikes that were beating them too. Never made it back to the dyno after we retuned with the more boost but at the same time, that's where it gets back to the butt dyno. Never should of sold/traded the car, but I did. Big mistake, one I will not make again.
