your opinion on go rhino bed light bar?

The go rhino sport bar was the first thing on my mind for my taco (considering nobody makes an actual roll bar for an 09) but it is GREAT. very solid and sturdy, no rust (and i live in florida), i linked all 4 of my lights together and ran it down the bar because it has little inserts to place your lights. ran it the the relays under the hood and directly to the battery. check out my pictures

 

That looks sweet! How do you mount it?? Is there a spot were I could mount my bed lights?

well the actual bar itself just slides right into the rails on the sides! you use bolts to lock it into place (i wish i had taken pictures because i cant really describe it) but those slide in, and any theif looking to really steal it..can get away with it because they're just screws and bolts. but i purchased a motion alarm once my truck got broken into. Then their's 4 holes on top for 4 lights, and holes just everywhere! you could put your lights on the sides, underneath the 4 on top, whever you want

 

And i'm sorry, this was the best i could do without actually taking it apart again. hope it helps!

i soldered the 4 lights underneath the bar (all of these wires are NOT visible from a normal stance) then i ran it down the left side of the bar, throught the space between the cab and the bed, then underneath the truck i poked them through a rubber seal, up through the floor panels and side all the way to where all the bluetooth buttons and what-not are. thats where i placed my switches and you can put it wherever you prefer! then from there i started from the battery; wiring to the relays which i drilled to the side of the truck, then through the rubber seal from under the hood into the cab and met the wires between the +, -, relays and switches. and through it all i zip-tied a lot of the wires to keep them from getting caught, cut/looking trashy. good luck its really a great investment!

 

Mike, those things look really good. i've seen a couple of tacomas with them, and seen numerous adds for them. i think it would be best to have all four lights facing forward. however, it would be real easy to jsut drill two more holes in it and hand two lights under the bar, and face those backwards. that way you get plenty of forward facing light for driving, it looks good, but you can still have reverse lights, that are out of the way but still very functional.

 

I like this bar a lot..but ilike the defender roof racks a lot more. Bu this would be easier to wire

 

if you like the roof rack more, go with it, get what you really want. in the long run it will meke the extra trouble wiring well worth it

 

A roof rack like yours will provide better lighting for a double cab

Looks like he got that bar to work with a tonneau cover! Seems like he fab'd up some brackets to make a channel for the tonneau. Hmmmmmm I kinda like that bar, but also like my trifecta cover.
