Your Parking ticket might be unconstitutional if they used chalk!

Wow... for the people saying “don’t break the law”

Let me remind you, the colonists “broke the law” when they kept their weapons after the red coats tried to confiscate them. The same people that fought against England to make this great country you live in “broke the law” when they rose up and grew tired of the bullshit. Rosa Parks “broke the law” when she sat at the front of the bus which helped as a precursor to the civil rights movement. Susan B Anthony “broke the law” when she voted in her hometown to protest for equal rights.

Just because something is law, doesn’t make it right. So please, bring a little education into your life before you bow down to your masters.

 

Next time I take a shit on a park bench I’m just going to yell “Rosa Parks!” and hope the message is received.

 

I heard that on NPR. Before y’all go apeshit parking the decision only affects the 6th circuit, places like Michigan and such. Should have plenty parking anyway lol.

Not sure what would need to happen for this to go country-wide... perhaps appeal to the Supreme Court where this decision has extremely slim chances of being upheld. SC has been chipping away at civil liberties for decades, especially 4A so I’d imagine that this particular bunch of assclowns on SC will axe that decision over lunch

 

My only anecdotal story involving chalking tires and 'obeying the law' has to do with an old downtown shopping area in a moderately sized town (~70,000 people). It was approximately a 6 block long stretch. There are metered spaces on the main strip and 2 hour free parking lots behind all of the stores. However, no employee parking to be found anywhere. Kind of a crap situation for low wage retail workers. I think my brother moved out of that town with nearly $1,000 of unpaid tickets over the years. The common trick was to remember to go out to your car every so often and drive back and forth a few times in and out of your parking space to get rid of the chalk.

The only solution offered by the city was a single small lot a couple blocks away with an annual parking pass cost that was more than paying a ticket each day you work if you were a part time employee. So you lose either way.

 

Cause everything goes in the 3rd gen section.... like ketchup... goes with everything

I agree, to hell with the law. I recently walked into a bank and made a withdraw from everyone's account. Winning. Out.

A few years back my wife received a ticket for running a red light on Main Street in the town we live in. She told me she didn't see the light so I went to Main Street to check out her story. The city had moved all overhead traffic lights to the corner of the streets so you actually had to look to the right to see your light. On top of that they planted big ass trees close enough to the lights that you can't see the lights until you're at the point of where to stop if the lights red. We took pictures and tried to fight the ticket in court. The judge asked why we didn't use the light on the left hand street corner. I told the judge that I didn't even notice a traffic light there and in all of my years driving I had never had to look to my right or left for MY traffic light. Needless to say we had to pay the ticket.

Our solution to this problem, never visit Main Street Hendersonville NC again and we never will. I understand this solution isn't practical for everybody but it works for us.
