This band has many of my trumpet heros in it. 3 to be exact. This band is so damn good. All top LA studio guys. Dave, the writer of the tunes on the CD, writes for TV and Movies. He knows all these guys and asked them to play on his CD. Took a lot of work to get them all in the same place at the same time. Recorded Live at Capitol Records, also, a place that is amazing and I would work there in a heart beat.

Great album and recorded so well.

Glad you enjoyed it! Compared to older Contortionist material this is a big step in the more progressive/less heavy direction.

They've always had that atmospheric/spacey/progressive sound to them but it's gotten a lot more listenable over the progression of the albums. Would be pretty cool to hear in a live setting.

Damn. Guy has mad flow and diction. Really liked this too. Wish the vocals were just a touch hotter in the mix for me..(im an audio guy, so, yea...).

    Sweet track though.

Yea i bet it would be awesome live. I did want the vocals much louder, was hard to hear him. Cronic metal guitar syndrom haha But maybe that was the effect..still cool tune. I have always liked progressive metal/hard rock more then other types of hard rock/metal. A Perfect Circle is amazing.

yea :p one of the many random hidden "gem" threads i have created

I've been a huge fan of him for a long time, saw him live last June and it was by far the best show I've been to. His whole new album was all 90s style Hip Hop too which was cool.

I love me some thrashy kitten punchin blast beatin metal but i absolutely love the proggy stuff too. Contortionist is high up on that list. A Perfect Circle is excellent, i'm more of a Tool fan personally but either way, it's Maynard on vocals so you can't go wrong with either haha

    Glad you enjoyed! :D

Tool is fantastic in its own way. I actually found A perfect Circle first..haha but yea Maynard is great. I just love the music more from A perfect circle i guess..just like the albums more, more variation i guess..

Exactly. Kinda hard to explain Tool to somebody who just doesn't know or understand Tool.

APC definitely has more variation in their tunes, where as with Tool i almost feel obligated to listen to their albums as a whole because it's almost like one giant song haha
