I tried both 3M and Permatex black weatherstrip adhesive - that stuff is MESSY and I didn't like the final outcome where some sections squirted out. Home improvement stores sell window weatherstrip adhesive rolls that might work for this. They're wide, so you'd have to do some custom cutting but if I were to redo mine that's what I'd try first.
That or maybe a thin bead of silicone?

    Thank you @nzbrock and @HoneyBadger153

I ended up using 3M Scotch 924 ATG Tape: 1/2 in. x 36 yds. (Clear Adhesive on Tan Liner).

"3M Scotch 924 ATG Tape is a permanent unsupported acrylic adhesive transfer film (pressure-sensitive adhesive pre-applied to a special release liner)" I did not use the recommended 3M Scotch ATG 700 Adhesive Applicator

I have used this adhesive for adhering posters, art, photos, etc., to backings. It is essentially double-sided tape adhesive.
I cannot tell you how well this will stand up over time. It is not VHB - Very High Bond.

Go to your local hardware store and look for double-sided carpet tap (Flooring Dept). It's thin, tenacious, and is useful for anything you want to bond semi-permanently. You can consider 3M Super Seamstick as well. This tape is used for binding vinyl and fabric prior to machine sewing. The stuff is very thin, but sticks well.

Thank you, @NC Gazzer. I have used the double-sided carpet tape, and it is thin, but much too wide, and would have to be cut down. For future use, I will look at 3M Super Seamstick.
