Thousands of Ford owners may be driving a 'ticking time bomb' with flawed air bag repairs.

Ford Motor Co. is in the midst of a five-year “recall of a recall,” reinspecting more than a quarter-million vehicles after the company discovered sloppy work and false billing by dealership technicians during the required replacement of dangerous Takata air bags.

Most of the vehicles — nearly 232,000 — are Ranger pickups, for which Ford issued a formal recall in late 2023 because of incorrect air bag installation.

In my Truck shopping the Ranger actually made it to 2nd place with GM and Nissan behind. I didn't even look at Ridgelines. Then I test drove a Tacoma and seen the reliability, resale value and knew people that had 2nd gens that were trouble free. Choice made. So glad I skipped the Pherd Ranger.

This isn't something you're only gonna find at Ford, unfortunately.

Sad that you would say that. If you have experienced that kind of treatments at your dealer then change. I have no complaints about mine Petawawa Toyota  I have been dealing with them for over 25 years. just saying they are not all bad

75% of all Fords are still on the road today................

The other 25% actually made it home.

At least the Ford frame won’t rust away on you like any Tacoma built in the last 30 years.

Lazy and unethical transcends brand unfortunately.

I’ve switched dealers several times due to poor workmanship and stuff not getting done that was supposed to and was told it did.
There’s 6 dealerships in my area so no need to deal with a crappy service department.

They aren't on the road long enough to rust. :D

When I 1st looked at used trucks. There were all kinds of Rangers on the lots and no Tacomas.
That's all I needed to see.

Is this thread a sufficient link for that "added value" when I get ready to sell my truck? When should I expect my appraised value to go up, and by how much?

Ford should have stopped when they were ahead. Unfortunately that was in 1939 with their 9N tractor.

Actually we have a 2004 Ranger at work. It's been beat up by about 50 different drivers and still runs.
