No no no. You got it wrong. They got Raptors BECAUSE of the frame issues.

When they put the bad guys in the back and go chasing after another group across the sand bumps, the frame will flex, throw the guys in the back out into the air to make room for the next group. The guys that got flipped out are now disabled because they landed hard and can't run!

And I thought the guys who got the police Chargers where lucky (seriously, the newest body style is BADASS). I cant imagine having a Raptor as a work truck.

Ford announced that the Border Patrol, was going to use the Ford Raptor right before they launched the truck to the public.

 

Yea they've been using these since they came out. My cousin is a BP agent out of San Diego, don't think he has a Raptor though haha.

 

I would rather drive the Border Patrol Hummer H1s.

According to the agents I talked to, they just started using Raptors after the 1st of the year...

I dunno, these guys looked like everyday BP agents & the Raptor was actually pretty mudded out underneath & on the sides...

But yeah, what a smokin' work truck to have.....I like the Raptors too.....

Heck, the US Special Forces over in the Middle East got modified Tacomas.

During Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom, multiple Toyota Tacomas have been observed in use by special forces units of the U.S. Army. Typically, they have been Double Cab models, with SR5 and TRD packages.
Despite the fact that the Hilux, which the Tacoma is based on, is extremely common in the Middle East, the special forces found it to be easier to purchase them from American dealerships, modify them appropriately, and ship them to their areas. The gasoline engine used is significantly quieter than the diesel engines used in the HMMWV. These were modified by eliminating the factory radio, along with almost all exterior lights and door buzzers. The front headlights have been modified to work in IR, in order to work with night vision. The engines are unmodified, but the vehicles have been fitted with brush guards, Warn winches, and a rollbar with a machine gun mount.[11





Dude, I want a roll bar with a machine gun mount... LOL, I was just thinking I could mount a paintball gun up there and use it for scenario games.

 

Raptors are a good route. They're not allowed to add lifts or performance mods so this is perfect.

San Diego Sherriff will be getting these too in the next few months, not sure how many, but they will be rolling in them soon, lucky bastards!
