Your thoughts on this idea...

So...I saw truck (not a Taco) this morning with blacked out badging...no big deal I know. However, these had a body color letter within the blackout letter and I thought it looked pretty cool. Similar to my CRUDE picture. What are your thoughts? Anyone know of someone who could do this? I reached out to Harmon Customs and they said they couldn't.

I'm not thinking sticker, but rather an indentation that can be painted to color match the body.

 

Check out vinyl emblem inlays, probably what he had..

 

He just did some sweet EVH Striped Tailgate ones for me.

 

That's pretty cool. I like the look of the Black overlays, which I want to do, but I think it would look really goor to have a thin "TACOMA" ect. over the black.

 

Mmmmm... maybe. I'd have to see it on the Taco.

 

I have to get the blackout kit first.

 

@CBoy808 I am ordering the blackout kit tomorrow. Could you make vinyl lettering in Inferno to fit inside the Tacoma and V6 Emblems? I want it to be more of a highlight and not the focal point. If it looks good, I will do the tailgate as well.

 

perhaps a hollowed out black inlay-ed sticker....ensuring 100% color match. I'll take a free set for the idea, thank you

 

That was my original idea, but fabrication would be tough.

 

@rrentrop can make what you want, I have his black over chrome decals on my truck.
His site just shows black but he should be able to make red and you would just have to spray your emblems black or put on the overlay before the decals.

I have inlays for the emblems for sale on my site. While the pics show them on the chrome emblems they will work on black emblems, and I have vinyl the closely matches the inferno paint color.

Can you make them thinner? So more of the black is visible?

 

Yes, these are smaller and show more of the emblem. This listing is for black but I can cut them in any other color that I carry.
