Extra storage is not a bad idea but to place the extra storage in an area with continuous and excessive heat is a bad idea. Anything that absorb heat will deteriorate over time.

That idea of deterioration over time due to heat hadn’t even crossed my mind. I have had that set up for a few years now and haven’t noticed any issue. I will definitely keep an eye out for it, thanks for the info.

It just keeps his straps from turning to ice blocks in the winter because they were put away wet and inevitably forgotten about. Bet you could toss your lunch in there and heat it up too!

@Svridge I think this is in reference to the tailgate cable? I just ended up finding a used one from a guy on CL. Have not done the mod yet tho as the truck is in the shop for rusted frame issues.

    Passive or active crossovers?

I need to figure something out soon to finally finalize the interior. I have Pioneer midbasses in the back, a 15" sub behind me, and plan on active 2-ways in the front with dual mids on each door in parallel. I really want to go the 4R mirror/sail route for the tweeters but don't want to deal with all the new buttons for mirror adjustment.

    Passive Crossover, no DSP.

I haven't put an amp in yet, was waiting for some black Friday/cyber Monday deals but didn't see any.

1st or 2nd order? The damping looks good.
I've heard Skar make decent cheap amps.

3D printed carbon fiber adapter to run a 10” Atoto S8. Awesome running On-X topo maps and having Pandora in my 01 Tacoma. Still have to make/print something for the hole where the existing head unit was at. Thinking rocker switches and a cubby for phone.IMG_3053.jpg
