Not worth it just for the hassle of changing the filter. Just go through the wheel well and use on of these
    http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-63600-O..._1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1324242525&sr=1-1

And it's really not hard at all. Lisle also makes a larger size clamp and both sizes cover just about every oil filter used on cars.

I installed an inclinometer out of an Australian FJ60, which I salvaged from a scrapyard in Queensland back in 2011.

I posted it elsewhere a little while ago but it is a unique mod...I've never seen it in another Tacoma.

While it does require a smaller aftermarket head unit to be installed as well, I'd say that's fairly common anyways.

It also solves the well-documented problem of the clock location on the 1st Gens. Toyota uses the same wires for the clock in the inclinometer, so I just had to splice in the extra length and some single-pin terminals.

Has anyone swapped in a different center console into a double cab?

Usually people move oil filters when they want to change something in the engine bay, or install something aftermarket and the factory location is in the way. Something like maybe adding a turbo, adding an air compressor, etc.

The center console for the 1995 Taco isn't the greatest, but at atleast it has an area for my cell phone and the occasional loose change. But all that rattles around and makes too much noise when driving, so I padded the center console bin with a simple mouse pad mod. This has gotta be the lamest mod ever on a tacoma.

    The culprit: plastic bin

    Cut a cardboard template:

    Traced template on mouse pad:

    Cut mouse pad:

The final result. Super easy and keeps my cell phone and loose change from annoying me.

Simple doesn't necessarily equate to lame. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. This mod did what you needed it to, which makes it a success!

I suppose so. But because it is the most simple mod here, that makes it a little lame-like. Thanks though... :smack:
