Thanks! Damn, I need to look into that, I built a roof rack on my last canopy with unistrut, and have a DIY basket over my cab with spray-on bed liner coated strut. Works well but can gum up the little nuts and has started to chip. This one was the result of a coffee fueled Sunday tinker, so just a run to the local hardware store!

I would be careful with the half-height, I wanted to keep the backrest pad there and when testing with a short piece of half-height I had laying around I found it was right on the edge of being thick enough to clear the pad. It would probably be fine if adding quick fists but just a consideration.

@TacoRN Thanks for the kind words, and good eye catching the Michelin's!

Maybe not a lotta folks out there running these in 245/45/17's on an old Tacoma and perhaps yet another "unique mod" on my truck, but they SHOULD!!

You know what I mean!

Love the backseat setup. I'd love to do something like that, but I use the storage under that seating area though

    Looks good,

BUT over the last 620,000 miles I bet I’ve had at least 5 different people hit my tow hitch in at the mall
or sitting at a traffic light. They were all just small bumps that the hitch took.
Hope the tail gate doesn’t get a bend if some jerk hits that tire tho

Sorry man, but those seats just don't look good in that truck.

Pull them, and just to help a TW brother out, I'll take em off you hands... :spy:

I don't remember seeing anybody put this space to good use. About a month or so ago I posted this in "What Have You...", but probably should have put it here. I did have to move the existing wire harness just a bit to make sure the screws didn't hit it, or rub. Otherwise, pretty easy spot to add something like this because the wires coming from the dash run right in under the front of the shifter cover.

You are right, I ruined this truck.. how about you just come and take the whole truck off my hands and give it a new life!!

I actually have a second set of Sport bucket seats that are just a steam cleaning away from full restoration, I was going to clean them today but it started raining..

if you are really into them and love YOUR truck, let your wallet do some talking here!! :spending:

These are pure genuine Tacoma Sport buckets, so they have matching color fabrics and bolt right in to Tacoma's. They are super hard to find and possibly the rarest and most sought after of all Tacoma parts. They are easily the most comfortable seats Toyota ever put in the first gen Tacoma's also, I've had them all!

Some parts came from an SRunner while others came from a double cab with the Limited package (both 2001 models).. I put a lot of effort into getting these fully functional and into my truck as seen above, and ended up with two sets along my journey!

As fyi's I had to learn the hard way - Found out 4Runner seats do not bolt into Tacoma's and the seat back cushions are not swappable either, even though you can bolt in the lap cushions from the 4runner Sport seats into Tacoma bucket seat tracks.

SRunner/Sport bucket lap and back rest cushions from a Tacoma also will bolt into standard bucket tracks, but you would lose the driver side height adjustment. I had to buy an extra passenger standard bucket to donate the tracks to get this passenger seat working again. I also had to weld the height adjustment rod to get that working again in the driver seat.

A lot of work but worth it to restore such rare and desirable Tacoma parts in my book! Good luck if you plan on searching for some of these for yourself. :fingerscrossed:

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
    Here’s the real question.

Did you snag the leather wrapped steering wheel from the srunner for your truck? Not as rare since you can get them from tundras and sequoias, but it would be the cherry on top.

Hahha! I definitely checked it out and was hopeful, but the thing was pretty shredded up sadly so I left it behind. Think these wheels just last longer without leather anyhow and do not add as much comfort wise as the seats do, so the seats are the cherry on top of my truck!

Also the fender flares are the rare fiberglass parts I was thinking about grabbing, this was a stepside and hit from the front so there was just one good one. I figured I'd leave it there too since I dont feel that I need to go down that path of hunting for all the flares and repainting, as my wheel and tire combo does not stick out from the fender wells anyhow.

I did take the rear sway bar and all linkage home though!
    20200222_180149.jpg
They wanted $500 for the rear axle and that was too much cost just to add sway bar mounts, so I am going to add some saddle clamps as seen on the aftermarket rear sway bars to mount it when I get around to this phase of the project.

Somewhat unique mod for the future perhaps?!
