True. I hadn't considered the geometry post-lift. I'll never do long travel but if the KDSS is holding me back I have no problem ripping that shit off. But I don't think it will ever be a problem.

It's a lot to rip out, but it is possible. That Jonathan dude's GX had KDSS before he went with long travel.

For me, the pros far outweigh the cons, however. I love my KDSS.

For what its worth, same here. I can take on ramps at 40mph with a rack and RTT. Its not a 911 but its a damn sight better than any lifted vehicle ive ever driven since it lives on pavement 80% of the time

if people start referring to these gx lexus trucks as 120 series land cruisers I feel like there might be a slight rise in this trucks state side popularity

Probably. An with that, a rise in prices. They're cheaper than 4runners on the used market, and typically better maintained.

One of these drove by me yesterday. It was lifted, had from and rear armor. It looked sick can't wait to see yours.

    i could not agree more...

honestly I have a hard time understanding why people even buy new cars anymore.. aside from those pesky gas mileage stats I guess

So please don't do it, as I'm looking for one for my wife, I would like to keep them reasonably priced.

I have been as well lol
g/l on your search, ebay always has a few but the best I have seen so far is off random craigslist listings, usually in places far away from my general area in the North East.
I feel like the best deals are on craigslist for these trucks many times mainly because usually seems people listing them are too lazy for posting on country wide forums & classifieds and just want a quick local sale, a lot of them do already have 200k miles (soccer mom miles for the most part)

    Mostly stock on 35s
They are a Land Cruiser 120 Prado in other markets, we had one as a rental in Costa Rica.

Hard to come by with low miles. I have been looking at 460's as well. She's still on the fence. What she really wants is a G500, but there's no way I'm shelling out $40k for a rig with 100k+ miles on it.

My mom had a G-Wagon the best vehicle I have ever driven. She got it because I talked about being in them in Afghanistan and they looked bad ass.

My buddy just bought a 2006 so I'm trying to follow along with this. To bad it's 3 pages and only 1 picture though.

Sorry, I'm working like crazy lately trying to buy a house in the next few months. I'll sit down one day this week after work and gather up my pictures and get them posted.

But it currently looks just like that picture. I'll have better pictures after the suspension install next week and after my sliders and skid get here in a few weeks.

yea another great truck, and without buying one older than say from 1990 pretty much not happening for under 35k as you mentioned. Small note though from what I gather they as well have a frame rot problem, though from the inside out kinda issue (but only after many many years) but something that apparently can not be fixed something about cavities on the frame that trap stuff in. Clearly nothing that would worry anyone buying a $100k 4x4 at that point i suppose, tough not wanting a factory triple locked truck

Compared to a non-KDSS vehicle with the sway bar removed?

*edit: Ignore my comment. For some reason, my page didn't update to include the entire 3rd page of discussion. Good explanation of the KDSS flex post-lift. Hadn't thought of that.

As for the prices of the GX, they do seem to be considerably cheaper than a comparable 4Runner. Find a 4th Gen. Limited, V8 with all the bells and whistles, and the price (from my searching) is generally 20-25% higher. Definitely a better value the the 4R.

So a little change of plans. I ordered my SSO coil conversion kit 2 or 3 weeks ago. It's been back ordered because they were waiting for parts. As of today I still have no shipping confirmation. So I bought a Metaltech conversion from a guy that's only a couple hours away and he shipped it out within an hour and I'll have it by Thursday at the latest. I guess I'll be using the MT kit unless my SSO kit shows up before Saturday. Then I'll sell whichever one I don't use.
