I haven’t had a chance to add much to the taco due to busy with work. This build will continue. Hoping to install the ARB breather this week. Update hopefully coming soon.

    Installed!

Here ya go! 9034C272-A949-480F-BF02-726DE174602B.jpgThis is the factory breather. I must say, what the ARB explained not only it allows for breath ability in and out, when I removed the factory one, it gushed air. Not sure if it was in or out but either way, inadequate.

Here is the ARB kit. E31BED0B-070C-4E88-8ECE-E0BD2A8EB0F6.jpgD4A65010-D430-49F5-81B7-A2B9527BDD76.jpg C1B4340E-AB43-4DA2-A5D7-16DE052D38E1.jpgBC62F238-10D7-4532-80EB-DF3F82C4D7F2.jpg

So I choose to install it in the area behind the rear driver side taillight.4F9624AA-7F06-45D7-92C6-71A8E110C1C7.jpg 83714CCC-9091-4E07-B724-28A08384B166.jpg
    New fitting in place.

    E1575423-F00E-4299-8301-C27BE110E58F.jpg 39F19C41-026A-40C8-BFF6-4BE6A4668721.jpg
Hose routed and zip tied. I kept up over the frame and followed the factory wiring loom to rear taillight. Must say, the ARB supplied hose is stiff and difficult to work with, especially in this cold winter weather. Below 20 degrees outside, garage probably 30-40 degrees. Total install time was about 30 minutes give or take. Pretty straight forward kit. Definitely much higher breather than the factory setup.

Thinking of buying the softopper next. Undecided on which color, black or tan? Any thoughts?

I also picked up the A/C drain extension pieces for mod. Plan to do this week

Well decided on the black softopper. Should hopefully arrive within next week or so. Now looking at options for RTT inside the softopper.

It was great to find this thread. Im going to be getting a Pro here in the next month or so, and was going back and forth between the white or VooDoo Blue, and seeing this makes me really want the VooDoo.

Looks badass man! Keep the mods coming :)

I'm actually disappointed with the factory system. My 05 4Runner with the JBL sounds mucho better. Other than that I'm loving my Taco!

Went ahead and purchased the OVTune! Can’t wait. Took advantage of their 12% off.

I notice a bit. It stays in higher gears longer, it has a quicker response with the peddle making it a little more peppy

so I finally did the AC drain mod. Have had it for a while but never got around to it. easy mod.

Sorry no pics, wind was whipping and I know everyone has seen the mod.

I also received my OVT box in the mail this week. Took advantage of the sale OVT has going on now.

Had to borrow a PC in order to get started. Using my friends PC reminded my why I gave up on Windows a long time ago......most nonintuitive OS in the world (IMHO). After 2 hours of trying to download the Flash software due to an error message that kept saying failed to install and that trying again may fix the issue ( I checked that computer requirement were all met over and over, re-read the instructions 1/2 dozen times, tried downloading and uninstalling both versions of the software several times) I resorted to check Tacomaworld (I had already emailed Matt at OVT as well). 2218 pages seemed that it may be a daunting task to maybe finding a solution to my issue but by some chance there it was on the last page 2218 the same issue I was encountering by another member. Then there was a reply with a link to a fix. Damn! thank you it freaking worked.
So I was able to do the first part of getting my Tacoma's system ID to Matt.

Now need to patiently wait for his reply with my tune.

I received my tune, was still a pain to install the files......took several attempts to get it to load onto the computer (I HATE PCs). once it finally downloaded I was able to flash the truck as stated!

Took her for a spin, takes aprox. 10-30 miles for the file to set in all its parameters.

Initially take: WOW! the pedal sensitivity, acceleration smoothness....WOW!

So I decided to give a good romp through the gears on a local highway to really see what this feels like. I started off normally from stop but then laid into the pedal. Apparently at the top of second gear, it will redline into 6200 hit a “rev limiter?” and stay there....... Doesn’t shift up to next gear unless I get off the throttle and allow for it to shift once at a lower rpm.

I emailed Matt at OVTune with a video and now await his input on the issue.

Now I don’t typically drive in this manner, but would like the issue to be resolved.

So the OVTune update fixed issues. Much better. Thanks Matt! @OVTune

I’m driving to Florida from Massachusetts and putting serious quickly on it.
Still think the truck gear searches and steps down way too much.
