Tell that to my father in law who had to puncture his oil filter with screw driver to loosen it.

That has nothing to do with filter replacement. I’ve used a screw driver to remove a filter before. Materials contract and expand. Shit happens. Oil changes on a 3.5L Tacoma are about as easy as they come now adays.

If i could have 270 hp, 310 lb-ft, and 26 mpg from my 2tr-fe I would take off all four tires, the skid plate, and a power steering control cover every oil change and not complain. Y'all need to be rotating tires anyways on oil changes, lazy bastards.

Y'all as in the techs at Ford

Wut...I've never had to remove the wheel, just reach around it and remove the filter by hand. Have to remove the liner but that's no big deal. Can also grab it from underneath assuming you have the skid plate off.

If this article is true I wonder if all those drive thru oil shops are going to not service the new Ranger...not only does the wheel have to come off but also a panel and some power steering control module according to the article. Sounds like Ford's way of keeping people coming to them for basic maintenance.

    Oil...oil everywhere...every time.

I always take my skids off now otherwise it gets even messier. The oil never wants to drain out of the holes cut out of the skids, just likes to miss it and spread out all over the place

I was being semi-sarcastic, I can’t (actually won’t, it’s a choice) fit between the body and tire to change my filter so I just wriggle around underneath until I get it.

Where is the starter on a (correct me if I am wrong) pentastar?
How about the fan belt on buick fwd 3800?

If you cant do the maintenance.....they have places that will.

Still funny as hell for that one guy that doesnt research before he buys and then attempts it himself.
