I always enjoy the taco owner that drains his transmission when he goes to do oil

Yes. This is real. I want to laugh, but the bottom line is it’s someone who wants to get balls deep in their new Toyota pickup. I like that a common occurrence with Tacoma ownership is that people who don’t normally maintain their vehicles CHOOSE that maintaining a Tacoma yourself is simply part of Toyota pickup ownership. They change. It’s rad. But it is funny as fuck.

I believe @Grossomotto was a person who had just started his journey into DIY maintenance, I remember being stoked for him. If I recall, he has done some solid work since then. I don’t think he drained his tranny fluid though lol

Fake news on the TOYOTA 3.4L V6 u don't have to remove the skid plate to drain the oil, and the oil filter can be removed thru the drivers wheel well after removing 3-4 retaining pins and moving the interior wheel well splash guard

Any first genner that bitches about changing oil on a 3.4 should have their keys removed and kidneys turned into pudding.

Drop the skid plate, six bolts and easy as pie. A few of them like to throw the skid plate away because hardcore scene points

Hopefully this isn't happening to those with manual transmissions or this world is really in trouble...

Access to the oil filter on my 2001 Ranger was a real PITA. You had to snake your arm in a certain way that required bending two different ways. And then you had to navigate the filter out without spilling the damn thing. Looks like Ford hasn't changed their ways that much with the new Ranger LOL.

Just wait until reports come out about the oil pan having a faulty gasket design, which leads to a blown oil pan. Then to change it out and fix it you have to lift the engine because there's a bar in the way. And then the replaced gasket is redesigned because the original gasket was defective because of the faulty design, for which Ford refused to ever do a recall on.

That's been my experience with owning a Ford Ranger...:anonymous:

Wait I thought all Tacoma owners send their oil off to Blackstone and drive for 15k because the report looked good, but wait, I have this wrong they will sample the oil three times a year and when you bring up the cost of sampling it they launch into a rant about how they're trying to save the earth and how they want their Tacoma is last until the end days.
My Tacoma is a D11T which operates in dusty and dirty climates, but wait for it, wait for it the instaham shows in improved camp ground and a RTT deployed over pavement.
These are the same people that were all oily anus over Robinhood offering cash accounts with "big" interest rates. Go change your underwear folks the Scan gauge just got real in this MF-er which happens to say I lost .25 MPG this tank so I'll spend another $240 on oil, filters, spark plugs in hopes that I can recover. The type of Tacoma owner that can be found not in the bedroom with his misses which happens to be named Amber, but in the garage with Bud Light and the other Amber stuff that's some boutique oil maybe it's Motul maybe it's essential oils. Let the mastery of bullshittery begin are you ready for it Tacoma and Ranger owners are all the same.

I dunno, my FJ was like “here I am dude.... right here on top. I even have a nice drip collar for you so you can wipe up your dribbles”. That truck was stupid easy. Perhaps the Tacoma is bro easy.
