My Inferno has been a family member for just over 6 weeks now. I religiously park my other car in the garage sweet spot at work since I get there early enough. I 'mostly' park this one there too. 'Cept today. I parked on the street and I find this nice little ding after returning from a short trip with no unattended stops.

I figure this one is beyond PDR abilities. Anybody know what options are out there that won't set me back $1k, and will still look factory? I'm blaming this one on the corporate lawn guys. I didn't see it happen, but I did hear them working today. I figure it's from a nice lawnmower rock missile. I'm 90% certain is wasn't there this morning. I parallel parked left side to curb, so no automobile did this.

I looked, but didn't find a sub-forum for repairs etc. Wanted to post this in a general section but didn't know exactly where. Mods... feel free to move if necessary.

Yep, lawnmower ding, I've had em too! In fact my wife and I have had more damage to our vehicles at work than anywhere else including WalMart. Seems like you can't have a dang thing. Maybe I just put to much emphasis on having something nice. I sure put in a lot of hard work trying to take care of and pay for the things I have. It's odd though, you can buy rock sliders, bull bars, bug guards, mud guards but lawnmowers meh...

Its going to be there until you get it fixed. Thing with lawnmowers of today. They not just lawn mowers. They are high HP sling shots. They are made to do a job in a hurry.

No solutions here, just sympathy. It seems like new things are damage magnets. You can own something forever, and it seems like nothing happens. Buy something new, and...

PDR, then touch up, wetsand, buff. Personally I wouldn't want my door re-shot over something that small.

Paintless dent removal. 100% works. If you were in the St. Louis area I would hook you up with a guy. I've had worse than that fixed and you cant tell it was ever there.

I know this is bad and don't judge me, but I try to park in open areas away from the store/building, on a white line, so no one will park right next to me and door ding me. I would rather walk further than risk someone throwing open a door with out thinking.

PDR 100%. Find one with a very high skill level. Paint will have to be touched up.

Well... ya gotta do it now. Paint the center black, cut a hole in one of these stickers, and apply it.

Thanks everyone! I'll talk with some PDR guys, but am not optimistic. Parking is a biotch here. If you don't grab the sweet spots in the garage first thing in the morning, the surface lots are essentially a war zone trying to get a good one. And after 8am it's circle time until you snag one.

My OCD is going to bother me for a bit unless the repair is supreme. I've already thought about having some vinyl graphics cut to cover the 'I know it's not going to be perfect so I need to hide it' repair. <he sighs>.

As mentioned earlier; it's a truck and I'll get over it. The first time I got a good highway rock chip on the front of my Macan..... yeah, had to get over that one too. Now my 10yo FJ??? Each new chip was a battle scar for which I prevailed of the dominion of idiots.

Do a few google searches there’s some guys that would be able to get the dent taken out and re-touch it and it’ll look like nothing ever happened. They’ll even come to you.
