Yeah with uniballs upper and lower you can use a little bit longer shock and get some more travel. Stock arms are capable of more but the ball joints limit it. Even with my new setup the uniballs are the limiting factor not the shocks.

The lowers are more for strength than anything. Most people running extended travel coil overs only do the uppers. I partnered with total chaos and did some trades with them so I picked up the lowers as well.

They have a 1/4" integrated skid plate, Stronger uniballs, greaseable bushings and are much stronger cause they are internally gusseted.

Did you go with the race series?

No, at almost $300 more the non race series fit the bill better. Plus the race series doesn't have the skid on the bottom which was more important to me than anything else since I would have gone with LCA skids had I kept the stock arms.

That was the same deciding factor for me. But then it came down to Dirt King and TC. I ended up going with the DKs since they were a little cheaper and had the Derlin bushings.

Yeah the DK are nice. I was doing trade with TC on some racks so that and the fact that I wanted the uppers and lowers to match was the deciding factor. I had heard that DKs boxed uppers had potential to rub with certain wheel and tire combos so I didn't want to risk it.

Yeah I have the boxed uppers Downsouth Use to sell and they match the DKs perfectly. I have yet to install my DK lowers but haven't had any rubbing problems with my 315s on my uppers.....I do have a .75" wheel spacer to help with rubbing though.

Couple of random phone pics from the install. I haven't had the truck offroad yet but there definitely is a huge difference. I am hoping to get out tomorrow and bounce around on it to test it out better. Need to get things dialed in for my limit straps. I probably gained a good 2" of droop. Jacked the truck up and took the wheels off to remove all the old stuff. When I got all the new stuff in and went to put the wheels on I had to jack the truck up a bunch more just to get the wheels on. UCA uniball is the limiting factor at this point.

Picture of the UCA (Yes I know it is backwards) I put it on this way at about 1 AM. After I did it I looked at it and took the picture and thought, "Why on earth did I do that?" Then I called it a night and decided to do the rest the next day.

I got the extended length, high angle silicone boot on some new cv axles. My drivers side had a small tear in the boot from some debris. I replaced it about a month ago but with the whole thing apart I threw the other in to the passenger side during the install. It should help with the increased articulation of the new suspension.

And a dark picture when I finally got everything in minus the rotors and calipers. The new hub/bearing assemblies from @BamaToy1997 are smooth as glass. No more humming from the front end.

Here it is jacked up when I was measuring for limit straps. There is a significant amount of droop gained. At this point I can still go about 1-2 more inches before the tires come off the ground. The uniballs in the UCAs start to contact at this point though, not to mention the CV angles are getting pretty steep.

My driver side cv had a small tear in it and was throwing grease. I ordered CVJ remans to replace it and got an extra for a trail spare. I got them with extended boots for high angle applications. When I did the install I had both CVs out to get better access to weld on the cam tab gussets so I figured why not put the passenger one in too. Kept the OEM one for a spare. Not sure how much the boots will help but they sure feel sturdy and look like they will help.

CV axles are from CVJ Axles in Colorado. http://www.cvjreman.com. They have options when you call for longer lasting silicone OEM boots and high angle inner boots. I got both. The standard reman axle comes with their neoprene boots I think.

Spindles are actually just the stock spindles with Total Chaos Gussets Welded on and painted. http://www.chaosfab.com/2005-2014-Tacoma-Off-Road-Suspension-Accessories.html

I got the weld on ones with the swaybar mounts from @Downsouth Motorsports. I dinged up the one during the install so I stuck a King Sticker on it.

Here is a picture when I was welding them up.
