Excess grease in the U-Joints just gets spun off everywhere...Excess grease in the Slip Yoke ends up ozzing out the open yoke end...

My bad. Yes slip yoke. Technically you grease the shaft spiders but yeah the u-joints. My point was to not over apply grease to the yoke. Skol.

I'm just curious...Did u get this info from the FSM? I would like some back up facts pls...There are numerous threads regarding greasing and not one of them states it's harmful to overgrease...

Its not in the FSM. Its basic hydraulics. When the yoke has too much grease the shaft can't compress and "can" cause damage. For most grease applications the idea is lubrication not saturation. This is my .02, so do whatever you feel is best for your vehicle. Skol.

I use Mystik JT-6 on my entire drive shaft and it works great. Pump it in til you see some old grease come out.

Yep, I own a grease needle too. You can pick them up at Autozone for 3.99. No excuses for anything going dry and they are real handy to have.

Dealership tells me my driveshaft needs lubrication on my (2 WD) Pre-Runner but there are no zerks and it will need to be added in order to grease it. Wanted to charge me $250. I rather do this myself to save cost and anyone know how to go about this? I saw somewhere where there are 2 different kind of zerks and 2 different kind of grease. Will need instructions which zerks go to what and does it already have a bolt in place for you to replace it with zerks.
