Honestly if it played out like Zman says it did (which the evidence overwhelmingly supports btw) he was more than justified in what he did. He made a mistake in getting out of his vehicle but that doesn't mean he forfeits his right to his well being. Trayvon seems like a scumbag and I think he got what he had coming.


We had a youth pastor die a year or two ago just down the road because he broke up a fight and then three of the kids jumped him and kicked his head while he was on the ground. I went to school with 2 of them which was strange.

 

It really depends on the beliefs of the jury at this point.

GZ got out of his car and approached TM after a 911 dispatcher suggested he should not. This alone could easily sway the jury. That part would be tough for me as I feel he probably felt "empowered" in the knowledge he was CC'd but he didn't fire right off the bat. Again, would be a tough call for me.

TM was beating him pretty bad and didn't seem to stop (according to evidence) and GZ felt his life was on the line. Again, jury decision which could go either way.

I really haven't watched a whole lot of the trial though as it was pissing me off as network news focused on one murder trial for so long when quite a few more happen every day and get zero coverage. This one is basically labeled race/stand your ground/gun rights and is really nothing about someone had died or defended themselves.

 

The evidence points that TM approached GZ. And the 911 dispatcher suggested he not follow, not suggest he not approach him. GZ got out of his car to make the phone call and TM approached him. Atleast thats the defenses story and what some of the evidence points to.

 

Where did I contradict myself?

 

Wonder what else is on the minds if that jury? They have been given instructions how to follow the law but are thinking about riots? Their name being released to the public? Will they do what is legal? Alter it out of political pressures? i am sure they feel many emotions right now...
I am in my 50s, i see so many societal issues here. What is good to see is how the conduct of this topic is being discussed here.
There are so many failure points as a society that come into play in this & so may other cases..
When i was a kid you would get disciplined in school, not everyone makes the team & not every gets a trophy, not everyone passed onto other grades & there were ramifications for your actions. We are in a society where many feel entitled.
Now i see so much Blame Game... This happened because of this or because of that, just fill in the blanks. People need to take responsibility for their actions.
To say that GZ was wrong for getting out of his POV is ludicrous.. We have stepped so far away from what this country was intended to be..

50yrs ago this would never even made news... Forget race.. this case has nothing to do with that...
He was found not guilty of anything & released, yet it was the press that played the race card. The chief of police was forced out! he had been chief for many years..
Worse was when the President in biased fashion spoke his now famous words only seeing a pic of TV at 12yrs old.

 

This man just spoke truth!

 

lastly, speaking of Biased media. Google search (Joshua Chellew ) & ask yourself why this is not getting any national attention.

 

If you think he's going to get murder 2 I find it very hard to believe that you actually followed this case at all. The only reason the prosecution added in manslaughter is because they know there's no way they'll get murder 2. Even the bleeding heart liberals that think TM was the best kid ever, and couldn't of possibly been looking for shit that night agree that murder 2 isent going to happen.

 

I think its funny how all of a sudden race is out of the question when they found out zimmerman was hispanic. As if only white people are racists. And Hispanics cant be racist. Not saying he was in any way shape or form but that is the medias reaction.

 

Killing someone in the defense of ones own life is not Manslaughter or wrong.

 

This is exactly whats going to happen. Forget about the justice of innocent Law abiding citizens that want their neighborhoods safe and form neighborhood watch groups to protect themselves wheres their rights?

 

Wow, that's awful. I hope those four get what they deserve... It is sad that's not news but another action taken within the boundaries of the law is on every damn channel.

 

I do agree with some of your comments, but the one I quoted I do have a issue with.

It would have not made news because of race 50 years ago due to the social factors at the time.

It would be totally be the opposite today (in the United States) as race seems to be the overlying determining factor.

How the hell are we to consider everyone equal when race is thrown in our face every day? I mean, you have to answer that question on pretty much any application you put in (job, college, loans, buying a house/car, military, etc.)

Race is the only reason why this case is so big and prob why he will get guilty. Give him his innocence and address the racism in America after the riots have stopped.
