Haven't been following the trial much. Just sad/mad that it's all about race and not the actions of both guys.

I can't honestly say what he is. I wasn't there to witness it and there isn't any real solid evidence apparently.

The kid probably was a "thug" and thought he was one bad somebitch and ended up messing with a dude who pulled the trigger.

Leading this off with a USA standpoint

It is more than race in my opinion but race is a big part of it. There is also the gun control aspect that the media is forcing on the masses (because bad guys follow the law and purchase them legally and use them in a legal manner.)

It also brings the ratings because the news deemed one incident "News/Ratings worthy" over everything else that is going on. It is called "Shock Value". Their money (News Syndicates) is worth more than your rights. Let's not forget that their words are protected more than yours due to the First Amendment and the "news" can lie whenever they want.

News these days in the US is just infortainment. No less, no more.

The only reason race is still a factor today is because it's self-perpetuated by many black individuals. Note I said many, not all. For those individuals, without the white folks to blame, they'd have no one but themselves to be held accountable for their place in life. Those individuals don't like that idea. The rest of the black populace do not make excuses. They understand that they are in charge of their own lives, and have just as many rights as any other person in the U.S. We have a black president, blacks are leaders in the entertainment industry and the sports industry. Racism only exists in the minds of those that want it to exist. Two of my best friends are black...they don't use the N-word. They are intelligent, they work hard, and they don't make their race an issue with anything. That should be the case with EVERY SINGLE PERSON WITHIN the United States no matter where their ancestry originated.

This trial is a mockery...and another example of how the media can control the outcome of a case with nothing more than here-say, slander, and libel. The actions of both individuals fall in line with Zimmerman being innocent of murder OR manslaughter. He's within his right to drive anywhere he wants, and to ask anyone any questions regarding who they are. There's nothing illegal about any of that. The ONLY illegal act was the attack which ended in one man's death. The victim has a right to defend himself regardless if the attacker was armed or not. If your head is being bashed into the ground, that's grounds to worry about your life because it doesn't take much force on the back of the skull to kill you. If you become knocked out in a fight, there's no one to stop them from killing you. So it's reasonable to say that...if someone is attacking you, and you are close to losing consciousness in the fight, that's no different than being killed.

 

Why is it ignorant? There is all this proof that trayvon was a punk kid. Not because of his skin. But because he as on illegal drugs a few hours before the incident just to name one that sticks out (which the prosecution held alot of the evidence to support that from the defense)
