Any kid in that situation will most likely adapt to the new reality fairly quickly without the mourning of the loss of sanity adults would likely have. If that reality requires one to be a cold-blooded killer, so be it.

Why does everyone hate Carl. I think next to Darryl and Meryl he has been the fastest to adapt to the new surroundings. He understands the survival instinct. He knows at all cost protect the group he's snall enough to move around and not make a scene or attract attention. The further along the show goes expect to see more and more of Carl. IMO

this. I like current Carl. his mom is a dipshit for thinking he's going to keep any portion of his innocence in the world they're in. I'd give up on my boy being a boy and playing on a bike or baseball and spend time swinging the machete instead of tossing the ball around IMO. Play the hand you're dealt and Carl is doing a pretty good job I think. Maybe trying a little to hard to fill an adult role in the world like his dad but he's an asset

 

Carl puts the group at risk, like Rick does in a way, Carl went off by himself what if he got over run and zombies made there way back to the group the door. Just like Rick went back to the city and attracted unwanted attention

 

He saved Hershel without even thinking or waiting for something to be mentioned about the bandages. And dale kinda killed himself by walking around that field. Carl is learning from Darry about surviving and by watching Rick he's learning how to make the right call.

 

The risk of going back to the city was worth the reward. Those guns have cane in pretty handy. Throughout the season. Same could be said for glen running off to the pharmacy or Darryl an his hunting trips. Everyone puts the group at risk in one way or another

 

He does put it at risk, but that goes along with the mentality of that age group - while he may have grown up faster than normal, he doesnt possess the thought processes to make logical decisions. And the fact that he spent a great deal of time with that excellent role model shane before Rick came back - which, to me, speaks volumes...

I dont hate Carl per say, but everyone has told him since the beginning of the show to stay within sight and he's NEVER in sight.

 

I think he is a serial killer, go back and watch the relief after he kills the military member with the butt of that rifle.

The book 'Rise of the Governor' is pretty interesting. I enjoyed reading it after getting through the comics and past his focus in the books. the wife didn't like it but she's a book snob where I rarely read so it may have been that it was targeted to 6th graders like me.

 

If that is the case , why are Michonne's " pets' " heads in there ?

both interesting points, on another note, i think the governor will employ the same strategy micchone used and line the wall of woodbury with "lurkers" as they were referred to, as a type of camouflage for the town. but i think he killed those soldiers because they definitely wouldn't follow his lead, he wants absolute power and the old government system wouldn't allow him to be in charge, also their supplies were an obvious reason
