    I'm trying to figure out why they did that episode, why now and why at all? Is his character was supposed to come back into the storyline or is it the writers tying up a loose end? Why devote a whole episode to it? Why do it now and fuck with the plot tension of the Gov V Rick?

    Could be either/or on the character of Morgan..like someone else said, they left it open since they leave him alive and taking care of business.

    I think the episode was to do a few side stories: Michonne talks more, becomes a little more human. Carl taking charge a little more going to the restaurant and the baby store. Rick coming face to face with what his future could be (going completely batshit) if he doesn't come back to earth. Plus the hitchhiker sidebar just showing they are getting more badass.

    Gov vs Rick is going to be the end of this season IMO..I've not read any spoilers or the books, just my sense. Plus think about this..they've got you now getting more anxious to see the showdown, so they did their job in that way right?
