No..not really.
I mean the whole "zombie thing" could really happen.
Why? because it hasn't happened so we don't really know that it can or cannot happen. Logic tells us NO.

I truly never started reading into the series until they got to the prison.

 

I can end the show right now.

Get a boat, go to alcatrazz, clear the prison, start a food plot.
Make runs to the mainland for some milk cows, beef, poultry, hard liquor and baby cribs.
Game over.

 

Then thats totally opposite from what the show depicts.
Andrea was asked herself when she got to the guvnahs compound how long it was since she saw Merles brother, Daryl and the rest of her old crew. She said 9 months.

she said 7, and that was during the winter.. it wasnt andrea was with michone for 7 months and then the group went 7 months with winter.. They split at the end of season 2 and then 7 months passed and season 3 starts.

 

I'm going by the events that have taken place during the show. Not from what I've "read" on a timeline website.

 

so add 3 months for all the other events you state and you are at 10 months.. less than a year

 

Lauri was pregnant for atleast 8 months. She wasn't pregnant the entire show.

And again.....carl gets a chest hit from a high powered deer rifle, treated by a "vet" and he's off and running? By your calculations, what....3 months recovery time?

 

1- Anyone else find it strange that all this time, Rick's hometown is only a short drive away?

2 - What was the deeper meaning we were supposed to glean from the backpack dude?

Agreed. Somewhere in there they said something about heading north because the cold weather might "slow" the zombies down.
Yet there still within a few miles drive from Ricks hometown.
