I had always been under the impression they're just kind of circling the Atlanta area, moving further and further out but in a spiral so to speak. trying to stay near what they new.

    just my thoughts.

I thought they were further away from their hometown until I saw the last episode. One thing my wife pointed out and now has me thinking, in the bar when the zombie grabbed Carl's leg, why was his facial expression so angry while the others seem to just have a blank look on their faces? Anyways, thinking about picking up the graphic novels and reading them as well.

I don't like how in some episodes they seem to follow what they knew, and sometimes they don't.

people sitting in church, Morgans wife and the house, the people sitting in the restraunt like they're waiting as a family for dinner, people on the bus in Atlanta. then sometimes they just wonder and sit. either commit a little more, or don't do it at all. It's like they bring in a guest writer and the rules change.

    ^This

It never showed them spending a lot of time traveling, but then again we aren't given any sort of timeframe. I think they are fairly close to "home base" but don't really know. Does anyone recall which direction they headed after leaving the CDC and which direction they were going when they came across Hercshel's place (you know, the site of the now-infamous gunshot to the chest...)?

I would like to think they are still in that general area...but they were rolling along to reach Rick's town...

I think it's kinda far fetched that they haven't taken any of their vehicles to the dealership for regularily scheduled maintenance

There used to be a Google Map that pinned the location of main plot points. Herschels farm, Carl getting shot, Rick picking up the horse etc.

Me too...Now I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when the gov had Maggie in that compromising position...or when Andrea woke up and paraded naked with then knife. I had to rewind that scene a couple of times until the wife got upset...

Hyundais (sp?) are very reliable and require no maintenance. They are also incredibly fuel efficient, being able to go months without refueling. They do, however, get stuck in the Georgia mud very easily.

Georgia mud is known to only impact a few square inches with impassability and easily tricked. throw a t-shirt over that 12 sq inches and you're home free

did you notice that though? They got un-stuck, and she stopped the car immediately and had no problems.
