Thats possible. I also think that they didn't want to take any chances of it being a trap...which I think it very well may have been, due to there being no weapons and the dude walking down the middle of the street in plain view. No survival smarts there...he should have been paralleling the road. Sure, may still see walkers, but not as many and definitely not any of the baddies out there...

It could have been a trap with the backpacker, I mean how was he able to survive this long with no weapons and then all of a sudden chase down a car while yelling...doesn't sound like something someone would do if they have survived that long.

 

His trap didn't work out so good for him

 

but if it was indeed a trap, then why would the ambushing party just stand by and watch their "bait" get taken out like that and not try to save one of their own????

Anyone see the creator of The Walking Dead on last night's Conan? He said there are no zombie animals because the comic artist doesn't like to draw animals and since it's not in the comics then it won't be on the show. Wonder if that's true...

I think the backpackers brand new gear could signal that there is a Cabelas close by , but then he would probably have guns too

or maybe the fact that he doesn't have weapons signals that there actually is a safe area nearby

or maybe he means nothing

 

I don't think it was a trap. If it was then why didn't the friends in the forest help him when he was getting eaten by walkers. He was just an idiot.

 

True. Just didn't think an idiot like that would survive for that long on his own or in a group for that matter.

That and the fact that when he was running around...all the metal things hanging on the back of his pack were clinking and clanging like crazy. I think he was just a dumbass and got eaten.

I think it was just way to reinforce to Rick that he was straying from his "moral fiber" and that was a wake up call to him to get off the path to Crazy Town.

 

Speaking of crazy town...last we saw didn't Tyrese tell the Governor that Rick was batshit crazy and unstable? Wonder if that will play a factor in the future.

well it may set up the governors demise??? planning for a crazy person that is unstable and instead getting a person that has police training and a straight head on his shoulders, with proven tactics......

 

...or he doesn't wanna deal with PETA claiming cruelty to animals every time they kill a zombie dog or hamster.

 

I dunno...I feel like the Governor is gonna play a much bigger role in the series. All the promo pics have him with his eye covered up by the bloody rag (which i still have yet to see) looking like a prophet almost...and with Rick...so i dunno.

I agree with that though, I think things are gonna come to a head soon and he's going to full out attack the prison expecting shit to be a mess and end up getting his ass handed to him by a much saner Rick
