    Hard to speculate on that. I suppose there has to be packs of dogs roaming the countryside looking for treats......have they even talked about dogs or other animals turning ?

    On Talking Dead the producers confirmed that animals aren't affected by the zombie virus

    The writers should have an episode on that topic......Animals that escaped from the atlanta zoo hunting down survivors. It would be a neat element to have lions or bears roaming the forests along with the zombies.

    The reason why animals aren't affected is because the cartoonist for the comics couldn't draw animals very well and they decided to keep it that way in the show.

    I figured it's just a dog digging to get some warm innards, nothing more nothing less.
