    Having lived in ATL, watching the show the main group is in some rural areas. There is nothing rural 30-40 miles in any direction from downtown ATL.

    One thing I don't get is how has it been 2-ish years since the outbreak and out of all the traveling they've done seems like they're pretty much within a 2 day walk of ATL, back where season 1 started.

    Not improbable at all. Darrel and Carole were following the car with a cross in the rear window, which would lead them back to the hospital. They're both smart enough after Terminus to not go charging in without knowing what's there. If they're watching, they see Noah escape, pick him up, find out what's going on inside, then get Carole inside, go back for Rick and the rest. Simple.
