Zombie Apocalypse Show isn't Real Enough (The Walking Dead on AMC)

This half-season started great then it went to the crapper IMO. The whole Beth getting shot looked to me like the writers didn't know what to do to have a dramatic ending to the hospital arc.
It looks like you can only have one useless character as part of the group at any one time, so now that Beth is gone Gabriel has taken her place. I was disappointed that the doctor at the hospital didn't decide to go with Rick's group, it would have been another nice touch from the comics.
Kind of like Andrea, Beth got written into a corner so she had to go. Sort of like how they were saying on the Talking Dead, any character that doesn't progress psychologically to deal with this new world doesn't last very long.

 

Beth was cute, but kind of a useless member of the group IMO and they could have found a better way to do away with her than just a shot in the head. Anyhow, looking forward to February!

 

I would have liked to see Beth become the Andrea from the comics, in that she was a good sniper and whatnot.

I'm thinking that will go the way of Sasha

 

We all found out Daryl is straight on the TD, Glenn still alive.

 

I disagree. I felt they started to develop her into an interesting character. She went from the sweet innocent girl into someone who was independent and capable of taking down walkers. Plus an insteresting side story with Daryl to develop. Offing her was a mistake IMO. I think Tyreese is useless now, a self admitted softie, Sasha is pretty boring, Eugune is probably more useless than the baby, who also could go, and Gabriel too sucks.

Now with the ending scene, WTF would Beth stab her with a pair of tweezers? It made no sense, she wasnt going to die with a shoulder stab. She was home free. I thought it was pretty bad writing. Also another character that's useless is the kid from the hospital. Daryl should have offed him, they never should have taken him on.

How many more Characters will die because Rick sucks? Show is getting lame.

Emily Kinney said it on TD, she got over confident with herself.

She reacted to Dawn playing her games with emotion and payed the price. She was growing to be a badass but got cocky with what she could do.

 

Exactly, I don't know why people gotta say this sucks and that is lame. Don't like it, don't watch.

 

They did start building her up, but I think they did that to kill her off and make her somewhat memorable. She was getting a little more useful and becoming something, but took three seasons to get there. You are right, the kid was useless and could have been offed too. It would have been great to see the bullet go through her head and into him killing both at once. I didn't want to see Beth killed, she was starting to grow on me, but that is just my opinion

 

The mid-season finale needed someone to important to die and the writers probably thought this made more sense. It doesn't really affect the main group though (except Maggie and Daryl) because she had been separate from the group for so long.

I didn't gather from the preview, but did they say where the group was headed next?

 

The more I think about it, the more I feel that the whole hospital thing was poorly done. Like what was Dawn's problem really and why try to build any relationship with Beth? And wouldn't Rick's group and the hospital people want to at least share intel as to what condition the city is like and what is the status of the areas outside of the city?

 

VO of Michonne (I think) said they were 100 miles away..

 

there is alot of things in the series that just scream "not how real people would actually deal with this." it started all the way back when they were all at hershel's farm and did nothing to protect the farm. i'd at least dig a trench or make some sort of trap for the zombies.

 

Herschel didn't view the walkers as a much of a threat , just sick people and Otis seemed to be dealing with the walkers fine

Without an excavator or backhoe , a tank trap around the farm would have been a serious undertaking

 

I would have liked that also. I agree Sasha is going to become the Comic book Andrea. That was a nice drop from the roof on the parking deck walker. No way Tyreese took that shot.

 

The hospital sequence was not done well. They never showed Dawn being that bad of a person. She didnt like cops that raped girls? Beth saves her, then stabs her? Beth knew she was a bit edgy and those tweezers were really going to do harm in her shoulder? The group sucks now with the hospital kid, Eugene, Judith, Gabriel, and giant puss Tyreese. Pretty much told his sister he got his sister's BF killed.

I actually thought Maggie was going down. Eugene sounded like a walker when he woke up, they never showed him when Mags went over there.

 

I just want them to kill Carl. He is a worthless little twat with a shitty attitude
