I was thinking about this also, he also recut his hand and rubbed it on the spot they had been licking twice. Plus, in the first scene with the two officers they killed, Shane also brought up that they had not been bitten and maybe scratches were how they became infected so I assume that is foreshadowing to his infection. Then his reflection in the broken glass again foreshadowing just before the scene with him in the bus where he became infected. And the random walker in the field before they arrived to get the gas/drop off the kid and then again on the way back would symbolize shane being a lone wolf/infected walker even after he was served up the humble pie by thinking he was left for dead then being rescued, hes still going to continue to be an ignorant jackass.

I am saying this because the show is written too well for all of it to be error or coincidence

Rick and Shane had a conversation in the episode about the two officers being biteless and that scratches must have caused their infection

i think the wiping his hand twice would be the main thing, most viewers would have forgotten he stabbed the first zombie before he cut his hand

I know, i think it's a distraction, if that were the case, they would have all been infected by now.

I have been reading this comic for about five years now almost started at the very begining issue six. anyways this is my favorite comic book it is unreal a million times better then the show. I watched the first season of walking dead but havent watched any of this season yet. I am so happy there are other zombie fans out there just like me!!! Carl is bad ass little kid that is all I'm gonna say. Pick up the books!

I've noticed like little 'spurs' in the writing that you think are important but don't go anywhere....for now

I'm thinkin the kid might just make it into the story line, he's survived being a shish k bob and shane n rick's little lover's spat during a zombie attack, he's made it through an episode and a half, far longer than his buddies

You may be right because Shane did cut his head in all that mess with Otis and I was thinking he may have been infected then but wasn't. The guessing game is part of the fun, we'll find out soon enough.

i think it was there just to add weight to the situation, like a baby was involved in the zombie world, now its probably a zombie too, more dangerous than the rest i think, little fuker could be crawling around the bus chompin ankels

good thoughts but I don't think he'll become a walker. I haven't read the comics, do know what happens to shane in them but they aren't following the books to a T anyway so that's out the window. I think the imagery with the lone walker and his reflection are like a few of us stated before, not so much foreshadowing as symbolism of how he's acting

What about that guy and his son Rick teamed up with for a little while at the beginning of the show before he went to Atlanta? I wonder if they are coming back :spy:

EDIT: I am also waiting on Meryl to come back.

I think Meryl coming back is a definite.

In regards to the guy and his son, thats a distinct possibility. Or maybe just the son? Think it would be cool if Carl had a lil' dude he could hang with.

Watched Sunday's episode last night and let me just say, when Rick blew away that walker through the other walkers head, it almost brought a tear to my eye. I wish every scene could be that epic.

Please refer to my other post.

It was pretty awesome. Thinking out of the box saved his life there. I was worried he was gonna run out of bullets before he could kill the 3rd one though. But of course Rick, like a boss, finished the job like a champ then saved his so-called best friends life.

Kirkman commented on the lone walker in the field and what it meant. Basically, if you notice the zombie is wearing a tattered business suit. This indicates that is was a city zombie, and is now waaaaaay out here in the countryside, albeit by himself. That is just showing that the concentrated zombie population in the cities are starting to venture out to the countryside. This is going to lead to the farm either being overrun, or the crew catching wind of the approaching horde and moving on before they are overrun.
