I've already told you. Since I live in Atlanta I know the answer to this question. The traffic here is enough to kill a person. They all died due to painful Atlanta traffic.

there was a flashback of Lori at the playground/school/somewhere watching Carl play and talking to another stay at home mom, she was saying how she was becoming tired with her marriage because Rick was to agreeable and they never fought because he was basically a pushover and would let her be right about everything. I think they may have even eluded to her having a thing for Shane when Shane himself showed up with a bloody shirt to tell her Rick had been shot.

Early Season 2 maybe?

 

LOL I agree. As an Atlanta native, traffic sucks bad here. Thank god I live north of the city and my commute is all back roads. I would die if I had to take 75, 85, 20, or 285 for my commute.

Maybe the army started to quarantine Atlanta and formed road blocks to keep the infected inside. then all hell broke loose and they gassed everybody.

any plausible guess will work since the show doesn't elaborate much on it.

I'll have to rewatch that episode since i watched it only once when it first aired last year.

 

I HATE driving through ATL. I find that my blood pressure skyrockets as I near the city. I got caught in there one time during rush hour... I was so damn pissed (I also have a manual trans.) that I just got off the highway and ate at the Varsity for a while and waited till the traffic died down.

Same here. I've been lucky that my home and work is far enough in th burbs that I don't have to go anywhere near those roads!

Traffic here is one of the main reasons I want to abandon this place. A native of Atlanta, I think I have finally reached the point where enough is enough. Maybe a zombie outbreak would actually be a good thing here? Thin the herd so to speak.

Good point. I don't think you're going to get the answer to your question until after it is known how exactly the infection spreads and if it has a different affect on people. Knowing that may answer the traffic question.
