Zombie Apocalypse Show isn't Real Enough (The Walking Dead on AMC)

But, this spoiler really plays into how the show went...

 

The creators have said many times they like to change up from the book. Just an example since this was very long ago in the show and shouldn't be a 'spoiler' for anyone at this point. When they were still in the prison and the Governor finally came knocking. They had Herschel on his knees in front of the gate and he eventually hacks his head off with the machete. In the book, it was Tyrese who dies this way, not Herschel. So, as you can see - they set it up the same, but sub in different people. So yes, the scene on camera is very similar to the book so far, but as for who dies...it could be any of them...

In reality, he probably either cleans it up himself or has someone do it for him. The likely hood of just leaving brain matter, skin, hair and skull fragments on the bat would only last so long. The bat would smell, the barbwire would dull and rust. So more than likely it gets cleaned and then maybe a new string of barbwire from time to time.

Also, it's TV.

Lol - I watched season 1 and made it through but it was a struggle. I haven't watched past the 2nd ep of the new season. Fell asleep in the 2nd episode. That show is so boring. I don't get the appeal. It's no Breaking Bad...not even close...They took the wrong character for a spin off. I'd rather watch a show about Gus and building the Los Pollos Hermanos business...

 

I get all that..I was being sarcy in that it is TV and the producers miss alot of those kinds of things...

 

I'm guessing either

A, ran out of gas
B, they approached the vehicle and saw it was just him
C, there were so goddamn many of them, and they clearly have radios, that they simply radioed back "yo, the RV is a decoy, scoop him up."
D, mullet tie cut loose and locks in the eyes messed up the plan

I wasn't impressed with the portrayal of Negan, There needed to be much more swearing or vulgar mind game one-liners. Even with it being as PG13 as possible, they could have amped him up a little closer to his comic version.

As for the bat care, he'll have someone clean it for him, I'm sure. If that is anything like the books he'll have people begging to take care of her for him.

 

I have seen some side by sides of JDM as Negan and the Negan in the books with each of the respective lines from that scene and JDM was saying pretty much quote for quote just minus a few f-bombs (which I read the bluray version will be a lot more 'cursey'). I love his comic book persona. I think JDM will evolve into what we want in the next season. You have to remember this was his first scene as the character. It takes actors a little while to come into a role, especially one as intense as Negan.

 

Ok just read a really good article that brought up something I hadn't thought of yet...

The episode opened with the first-person angle (which we later learned was from inside the van holding Glenn, Daryl, Rosita, and Michonne). This is the first time the show has used this type of angle. It uses the angle again inside the van later and finally with the bat pointed right at it.

So, assuming this is not a coincidence (which I would assume it is not, because that would be strange to all of a sudden do this) the person who met Lucille was in the van. They break it down more in the article and try to find clues from the angle. They end up deciding it is Michonne but that just seems wrong to me (I'm still sticking to my theory that it wasn't a woman). There is one shot where you can see the top of a head and it is either Daryl or Glenn's head. Since Daryl was the first body we saw when the doors finally opened I don't think the POV was his. Which would leave Glenn

I didn't think of that. Wasn't the first-person view in the van a little disorientated? Like as if someone lost a lot of blood from a gunshot wound to the shoulder?

I still think Darryl is safe though.

There was a good article from JDH about him being Negan and his first day on set. He admitted it's a learning curve and will perfect it as he goes. He is on another show playing the complete opposite and said that show just wrapped up so he can focus on Negan now.

 

I keep thinking about the whole point of what Negan says about Carl and Rick, something to the effect of cut his other eye out and feed it to his dad. So he knows that Carl is Rick's son. So what is to stop us from assuming he may know Michonne's importance to Rick and Carl. That and the fact that this article brings up Michonne make me wonder if it really is her that dies. She would stay quiet and strong throughout it, and her death would have a definite impact on the group. Just my thoughts.

 

True...Whenever Rick sticks his dick in something it dies shortly after.

 

Also, remember when they find the walker road block? He cuts the dreadlock off that is stuck to the walker dressed in Michonne's vest. It was a deliberate few seconds that he stared at it.

 

Earlier in the scene Negan talks to Carl and then says "you're his son aren't you?"...

He figured it out there, I don't think he knew before that. So he probably didn't know about Michonne. He probably should've picked up on the Glenn/Maggie thing though...

 

That might usually be the case but on TD they said the cast were all in place, on their knees for hours, rather than having Negan do his monologue to pieces of paper or tennis balls.
