Zombie Apocalypse Show isn't Real Enough (The Walking Dead on AMC)

I quit reading along (or slightly ahead) of the books a while back so i'm not aware of any difference.
Some of the storyline/characters is great to me, some meh. Books are ALWAYS better but that's just because i like to read. I realize that's the only reason.
The heads on pikes was pretty good though. I'm giving them some serious credit for that whoever came up with it. Effects, logic, logistics. The whole deal was good.

Also in the camp of disappointed in the scarring story though, I know they didn't want to overshadow the main story of the Whisperers but sure felt it didn't add up.

 

Stopped watching three seasons ago due to Negan not being killed. They were stringing along fans for commercial reasons.

 

I was reading along during that though. It wasn't unexpected. Kind of like that part myself.

edit: That line did go a long time on screen I agree. Too long? I dunno. This is a big budget shoot for TV. I don't even fathom the way that much money is made so I have to learn to give leeway to fillers.

 

That was a pretty good episode. I was also glad a number of the characters that were annoying, died. It was about time.

Funny that Beta can fall 4 or 5 stories on to his back, and still be walking. Dude must be sourcing PCP somewhere out there. Daryl was like, WTF? lol

Now with winter rolling around, how exactly are the Whisperers supposed to not freeze to death? Plus, you would think that their breath plume in the cold would be dead giveaways for the our OG group, when the war starts.

 

Maybe he was Michael Myers in a past life.

 

Considering he still has bolts for his crossbow and gas for his motorcycle he’s not in a position to question anything

 

I think he knows the nearest Costco or Sams Club

 

So with Danai Gerira leaving the show next season, let’s speculate, how will michone go and why? She is going to be in at least one of the three Rick Grimes movies so we know she’s not getting killed off.

 

I had not heard she was leaving the show. Interesting. Not surprised since her career seems to be picking up outside of TWD. I still wonder if they’re “streamlining” the cast so they can integrate the two shows in the future.

 

It was announced just a few days ago but plenty of info about it. Wouldn’t have posted it if I thought it was a spoiler. She’ll be in a few episodes next season and then she’s done.

 

I had not heard that either but I agree. She’s taking off, especially with future marvel plans...

I’m not sure the show is being merged with Fear. Minor spoiler if you’re not caught up with Fear, but

as of the season finale they are no longer headed to Alexandria and just off searching for people to help on their own. For the better part of last season I thought Morgan was just going to lead them to Alexandria for the shows to merge, but they threw that out of the window on the finale...

As for how Michonne leaves and could reappear in the movies. There is a storyline in the book that they can integrate pretty seamlessly that would fit with that. I won’t spoil anything but if they choose to follow canon it would make sense for her character.

 

My coworker says Lauren Cohens new show is kinda lame so maybe Maggie will reappear when Michone leaves. I’ll throw a potential storyline guess out - each community leader goes out to where Maggie is and spends some time there. Gives the leading cast members a little career cushion if their new gig fails.

 

I looked up what I thought I remember hearing that Maggie is with Georgie.

It was said while Jesus was listening to music dropped off by her.

 

I’m current on both shows. Did a little googling and actually came across some things to indicate that the shows might merge. Evidently there is going to be another spinoff, so perhaps merging these two makes sense. I think I’ve already posted that Dwight from TWD was going to show up on Fear.

 

Was that Maggie on the radio at the end of the episode ?

I think they are gonna hear about Rick being alive and that’ll set up for Michonne’s departure

So we know that Negan is up on things going on, so I’m not at all surprised that he knew of the whisperers, or the talk of boundaries, but when michone said that they had gone to the sanctuary Negan knew right away that they went through the whisperers’ land. So either someone is telling him everything right down to where the boundaries are or Negan and the saviors know of and may have had dealings with the whisperers.
Aside from that, that’s quite a herd of walkers the whisperers have rounded up.
