Got the transfer case skid on all I've got left is the gas tank skid and I'll be sliding around like a turtle.

I heard there's badass rock crawls around big bear- anyone know the trail name\ number? I was up around pinnacles trail & wound up at devils hole but never found any of the rocky trails

 

If anyone is selling king extended travel 700 lb coils I need em. This thing is overweight now

pump doesn't like to self prime like it was supposed to, but got that straightened out and the on board shower works perfectly! Best damn mod I've done

 

Had a blast hunting for the last 10 days. As always, little taco has served me well.

 

Went buzzin around in Lytle Creek last night- I found the cutoff to go around the cajon pass in case its ever closed. You can make the cutoff in 35 minutes so its not all that short, but takes you from the Mc donalds off the 138 down to Sierra ave at the bottom of the pass. Ive been stuck in the pass for three hours before.

 

I don't have any friends at the dealership. Had to leave this note on the skid plate cause I cranked every bolt down with red loctite saying Fuckit I'll never have to take these off!

A week later my steering is popping and clunking after the night run. Luckily its under warranty. But they'll regret telling me there's no labor charge to investigate haha

 

Today was full of fail.
On my day off, I got up at 4 am and hauled ass out to the out to the off road swap meet. Then realized its Sunday this year.
Stupid stupid stupid.

Then went back to the tire shop to get my last replacement Kevlar MTR I'll ever buy ever.
If you like to hit occasional moderate trails, go for it I guess. If you like to see the limits of your truck, don't blow your cash on that POS tire.

Any other suggestions for tires that'll stand up to rock crawls and general abuse? This truck only rolls on the weekend when I've got an adventure to go explore.

 

I've rock crawled and bashed the sidewalls a fair amount of times and wheeled through sharp shale rock, I've never had issues with mine. Are you airing down too low and maybe pinching the tire? Where are you wheeling that you get tire damage?

 

Luminescence powder coat took these ugly chrome hella 4000's and made them obscenely good looking.
I think I'll swap the 35W external ballasts to match the 55W ones up front.
So damn clean looking I love em. Never dealing with Chinese red rings again

Hey spencer. Where did you buy those 6inch LED lights you put on your roof?

Also how have those light strips under the hood and bed hold up? Thought I've read some have had issues with the LED strips going out after being in weather for a while.

I got them through Billy at Brute Force Fab- he kinda built the rack around all the lights
But I'm very sure they're just some Chinese knockoff ones. Had to return one or two to him cause they collected condensation so bad. But they're really just for setting up camp & seeing rocks & work fantastic for that!
& the under hood LEDs...
I'd honestly spring for the KC cyclones after doing mine. I made them with good waterproof eBay spools & they worked great, but they've started to fade and they collect dirt like you wouldn't believe under the hood . they were bright as hell & only cost me like 20 -30 bucks
But eh. They'll be replaced soon, as should be expected with all Chinese components.
Two or three cyclone led pod thingies will be WELL worth the investment to do it right once and never again. Its a pain in the ass.
For some reason, the ones in the bed have yellowed in the sun, ( get the black backed type not white like I did)
But they work great! No trouble at all & for something that can get smashed in your bed, spend a couple hours soldering your own eBay strips back there & use the 3m tape.

 

Gonna be home all weekend revalving my shocks & swapping coils on my front if anyone wants to join!
Bring corona & help prune my lime tree!
Car lift and every tool you'll need aside from the nitrogen to refill shocks .
