20% off road is a lot of off-roading!

The Colorado is much nicer truck spend any amount of time in. I wish i went that route instead of the Tacoma when I downsized from my Silverado. I drank the toyota koolaid.

I believe that the Colorado was also rated the least reliable truck available by consumer reports. And the interior quality is garbage as well, I could believe how cheap and ugly the interior was in the one I test drove when I was truck shopping.

Toyotas interiors are on par with anything from 10 years ago at best. I like my Tacoma overall, but I wont kid myself into saying its nicer inside then any of the competition. Im sure it will be running long after the domestics are sent to the scrap heap for most people.

    A few.
After installing all 4 bilstein 5100s on my off road it feels more like the sport. More planted, a little stiffer and doesnt lean much in the turns. Kind of feels like a rear stabilizer bar was added.

Do you have to be under 25 to really get the most out of tacomaworld? I think I'm getting old cause god damn there's some unhelpful people on here, but you'd think the least they could do is be funny. A guy asks for help in his decision of moving from a ZR2 to a Tacoma and the replies are "hur dur! get a car or a ridgeline cause you only spend 20% of your time offroad! Are you lame or something and have a job?! LOL ME!"

Anyway, depends on how tough your offroading is. The OR has a bigger rear axle than the Sport, but the Sport will drive on road better. Personally I would do what I did and get the OR but upgrade the suspension cause the OR rides a little soft in general, but the brake dive is what's really bad and will make you uncomfortable driving. If you never had to use your lockers on the ZR2 you'd be fine with the Sport though if you're not looking to upgrade parts on a new truck.

I’d go for the OR, if you like a little firmer ride throw some 5100’s on there! Beyond that you could get into the world of performance coilovers etc, just depends on your budget.

The "Sport" is just going to give you the harshness of a performance suspension without any of the benefits since it's a 4500lb truck with a Minivan engine in it. It isnt going to hug the corners, it's going to understeer just like any pickup with a fake skewp and a badge.

The Off Road rides nice on pavement, has a rim size you can actually buy reasonably priced off road tires for, a larger rear end and actual functional options in its trim level.

A policeman was asking Jeffrey Dahmer how he chose his victims.

    Meanwhile back OT...

I test drove a Sport before getting an OR and truth to tell I couldn't tell a big difference. I would've probably been OK either way but I got the OR with an MT and the color and options I liked at a good price.

I personally like the OR floaty ride. I've gotten pretty used to it. I know it's not a Porsche in terms of handling. For in town driving it is a little bouncy. When the roads are bad, especially spring with potholes or fire roads or somesuch I really appreciate the compliant suspension and wheels (mine are still stock at this point). On the highway it's quite smooth and I can't see any advantage to another suspension.

IDK about the Colorados. I like the ZR2 looks. The interior doesn't excite me from pictures. I kind of like the Tacos no-nonsense interior. When configuring the Colorado and the Ranger online it seemed that to get similar features as the Taco OR would be a lot more money. Maybe they're discounted more, I don't know. I do like my Taco though.

You actually have more tire options with 17” just saying...and the off road tends to roll in corners and have a floaty feel, both are nice on pavement but sport is a tad better.

You must be real fun at parties. If you actually read through the thread you’ll see most of us did provide helpful feedback though we did give OP some cr*p at first in good fun.

Both are nice on pavement, one is much better at off roading.

If he spends 20% of his time off road that is a lot imo...

Better not much better both are capable off road, and most wont ever use a rear locker or CC, have had them all and wheeled them all. But yes if you are buying for off road features obviously pick the OR.

Buddy had one interior was wack and off roading capabilities were sub par. He ended up getting a silverado and never looked back.

If you want to give someone shit when he's looking for help then go for it. It's an open forum. Just like I can say it brings the quality and usefulness of this forum down. I also wouldn't kick dirt on someone when they're down, and then say "Ha! Kidding! Let me help you up now." But again, that's just me.

I don't go to parties. Too many people laughing and smiling. Really bothers me.
