Build thread of my 1995 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4x4 LX. Bought it on December 26th, 2013 with 169,XXX miles. Currently at 194,XXX miles. Engine swapped in December 2014.

Pioneer Deck/door speakers
I had this deck in my Ford Ranger so I moved it to the taco. The stock speakers were garbage so I picked up some pioneers from best buy. I installed the speakers when I redid the doors. (Read below)





Replaced my double 8" subs with a 10" Rockford P1


First Lift
Added new rear shocks and put on 2" blocks in the back with longer U bolts. To level the front I used 3" front spacers from ebay. The spacers were just temporary until I found the money for coilovers.




KYB Monomax Rear Shocks

Seperating the UCA from the ball joint proved to be quite difficult. I ended up replacing the stock ball joints because the ball joint seperator "pickle bar" mangled the rubber.

Flowmaster
My buddy gave me his old flowmaster muffler off of his rock crawler jeep cherokee! It had some rock scrapes and dings but nothing that affects performance. I decided to add a turn down just before the rear axel to maximize clearance and sound. Haven't had a chance to weld it on yet, so it's just clamped for now.




Siren
Just for fun, Trent (tdoling12) and I installed a police siren under the truck. The button came out looking very nice and the siren itself is very hidden under the truck.

CBI Ditch Light Brackets + Rigid Dually Floods
I decided to go with the CBI brackets because they kept the dually’s out of my immediate vision. I did have to cut the plastic cowling to make them fit but they turned out pretty nice. Wiring them up was very easy.

They clear the antenna but not by much.

Camburg Upper Control Arms
I had a pretty bad alignment issue that I thought I could correct by getting new UCA’s. I went with Camburg Uniballs that I would suggest to anyone just because of how amazing it is to never have to mess with ball joints again!
Goodbye balljoints. I hate you.



Red Brake Calipers



Camburg Sway away Coilovers
I wanted to stick with Camburg because I like the company and matching is always good! ☺ They are set to 3” and are no comparison to stock. They also gave me another 1.5” of front lift!



^The stock bushing was completely shot.

^Went from 7.5" to 9" of tire to fender clearance.

CB Radio + Firestik
I installed the cobra 19 in the common ashtray spot and mounted a 3’ firestik to the side of my toolbox. I also put a PA speaker under my hood and I use that more than I probably should.



Plastidip Errrything!
I started with my emblems when I got the truck, then the wheels when I got the truck to Oregon. But then all the chrome looked out of place so I did my fender flares, front and rear bumpers, and my grille. It gave the truck a completely new look!




42” Lightbar
I decided to go cheap and get a lightbar from ebay because when comparing the output and rating to lightbars that were hundreds of $$$ more, I found they were usually the same if not a even little better (Obviously not better than Rigids or bars of that quality) I paid $130 for the lightbar and picked up brackets from All Four OffRoad in SoCal.




Removed Mudflaps
I don't know why I didn't do this the day I got my truck but I am really glad they are finally gone.

All Pro Front Tube Bumper
I finally decided it was time for a new bumper. I originally liked the look of the Apex bumper from all pro but the tube bumper has grown on me a lot.


9,000 lb. Winch
Yes, I went with a cheap winch, but so far so good. #brokecollegekidprobz



All Pro 80” Rock Sliders
I have been planning on getting these since I first got the truck but never really needed them until I moved back to Oregon and started crawling around on trees and rocks. I got them for 15% off thanks to an All Pro promo deal. Powdercoated them "Baja Black"

 

Sweet build so far man! What are you doing next? I just ordered a light bar off of Amazon thanks to you!

I am getting the bumper and sliders powder coated in the next couple days. And as soon as those are on ill be putting 6 led rock lights under the truck.

 

Hey man sweet build, make sure you get a right angle drill or something similar if your planning on bolting the sliders on. Just got done putting the All-Pro sliders on today and they were a pain in the ass so say the least haha

 

9/16/14
Just finished relocating my blinkers from the stock bumper into the running light housing. I swicthed the bulb to amber just to make sure it was legal. They turned out great! I used Blackdawg's blinker-light-relocation thread as a guide.

 

I added a few Hoonigan [Ken BLock/ Bj Baldwin] stickers to boost HP and figured it was time to get rid of the stripe. After I put on the "Hooningan" and "Just Aint Care" stickers on, the stripe made it look too cluttered.

The truck needed a little bit of rice so I put some red leds in the footspaces.


Just realized that the stock skid plate will not fit with the All Pro bumper so I ordered the All Pro Skid plate combo as well.

 

I had a local shop powdercoat the bumper and sliders, and we got them all bolted on.

 

80" Sliders from AllPro. I chose to follow @LAL00O00's advice and bolt them on incase I ever need to remove them.

 

The 1st lightbar I got, had 3 leds out so i sent it back and the new one finally arrived.

 

Build is looking good dude! I'm liking the light bar up top.

How did I just find this build? Lookin' good sir! Your armor & lights look rad

 

Can someone point me in the right direction for new headlights? I'd like halos but i'm not sure how they would look in my square 95 lights..
