like title says, my clutch pedal has an awful squeak when i press it. I tried oiling everything under the dash that was visible, but it sounds like the spring that is squeaking. I know people use silicone spray for springs on garage doors, do you think it would have the same effect on the clutch pedal spring?

This is a common problem. At the top of this forum, there is a Search button. Lots of information about this topic already.

Here's a writeup I made many many years ago on my 96.

i just carefully sprayed some brake cleaner in there and then a little silicone water resistant grease or what you like to use. just be careful as you dont want to get the spray on the clutch

+1 My buddies is squeaking at the bushing so that's where I assumed mine was coming from. Just replaced the clutch and lubed up all of the pivot points and my squeak is gone. Looking back now, it makes sense because his was really loud all of the time (coming from inside the cab) and mine was much louder with the window down than up (coming from outside the cab).
