Help! I need advice. I want to add some more lumens to my stock headlight setup (thinking light bar or something?) and also some lights for my bed (unloading, setting up campsites, and general utility use). My challenge is that I don't have anywhere to put them.

A lil muddy but you can see that real estate is an issue in the front.

My idea for rear lighting: mounted to my tool box on a swivel mount of some kind so I can use this light for just about anything. Anyone have suggestions?

I already have a $15 Harbor Freight backup light under the bumper and wired to a switch on the dash. That was pretty easy and definitely a big difference.

Just found out about all the LED lights offered by Rigid Industries. Thinking about flush mounting some of these Dually D2 driving lights into my bumper or grill. They look sweet! I could buy a 2 pack and use one for the tool box as well... Hmmm. Anyone have experience with these?

Dually's are pretty sweet. Lots of people run em and theyre crazy bright.

I swapped the crappy stock diffusion headlights for clear reflectors, then retrofitted projectors and HID's into mine.

    150billion% improvement in light output

This makes sense, my headlights are all fogged and barely put out anything. Where do you recommend picking up clear reflectors? Did you buy used?

I think konaborne used anzo clear lenses. I bet you can use the cheaper crystal clear ones on eBay. they say they don't seal well but you're going to dismantle it all anyway

So you dont just replace the whole headlight housing, you can actually dismantle it?

You use clear lenses because the ones you have now will scatter any projectors light output. Research what a "Projector Retrofit" is and you'll better understand.

Exactly...It seems like any Ebay headlight will work, just make sure you reseal them well...

I grabbed mine through ebay... just searched for a clear assembly, got it the same time as my clear corners and blinker.

You buy the whole assembly and swap out the entire light

I didnt even use extra sealant :anonymous: Havent had any problems with it...but I think I'm in the minority on that one. Just too cheap to buy the extra silicone

    check my 1st reply

but there arent any really good projector headlights for our trucks... theyre usually cheap and have crap light output.

there's no real way to modify the stock housing, since (compared to the ones I run) they're completely different types; to retrofit the projector in you just open it up and put the projector in

I have a step/step walkthrough on how to do it too :anonymous:
