I'm getting a rattle from the front of my truck after installing Bilstein 5100's and Eibach lift springs. I also removed the sway bar and left it off. I can feel it through the floor board...anything obvious I should check before going through every nut and bolt that I or the tire shop touched?

Make sure the shock/spring assembly was done correctly, and all the bolts/nuts are torqued properly.

Did you remove the entire sway bar, or just the 2 end-links?

I will double-check all the torque specs. It rattles most on rough washboard-like surfaces, doesn't seem to make a difference if the wheels are turned or not. Can't get it to happen by manually rocking the car or pushing down on the nose.
I removed the entire sway bar and linkage.
Thanks for the quick replies, any suggestions are more than welcome. This car is my DD so I'm trying to prevent hours of troubleshooting tomorrow morning.

Is that gap between the isolator bushing and top plate too big?

That isolater block should be right up tight against the top of the shock tower. I'd bet that's your rattle. Can you tighten the 3 nuts on the top any more?

But I just remembered I have these bushings and washers that I thought were extra...

Now I feel dumb. Where do these go?

Those go on the underside of the top plate.

Hmm... My isolator block sits right up tight against the top of the tower. I haven't seen that setup before

No need to feel dumb though! We are all here to ask questions to!!

Just go through my "threads started" history to feel better.

Glad you got it figured out.

Haha thanks guys. I'm trying to think of a shortcut but it looks like I'm going to have to disassemble the entire strut assembly to get the bushing and washer in there. Is there a way to decompress the shock enough to fit the bushing and washer over the top shaft while still leaving the bottom shock bolt in? It was a pain to fit by myself, would be nice if I didn't have to do it again.

You will have to completely remove and disassemble the strut to get it in there. No shortcuts to be had here.

I used that video first time around, only big differences I noticed were that the 1st Gens have 4 bolts holding the steering knuckle to the lower control arm while the 2nd gens only have 2. I also wasn't able to get as much droop out of the LCA as the 2nd gen did in the video. But it was helpful to see the basic procedure
