So you do you think with the diff drop your CV angles will be fine? Your truck looks amazing by the way. Very smilar to what I want to do to mine when I finally close on a house and have a chance.

Good question, the OME 885 springs are rated at 590lbs. and the Eibach springs are rated at 600lbs and are 16 inches long. I don't have the length specs of the OME off hand, I think Chris4X4 has them posted somewhere on the forum.

The addition of the diff drop will help with the CV angles that is for sure. I should have a free day soon to install it. As soon as I do, I will post some pictures. Thanks for the kind words.

Diff drop will be next, and then I am thinking a set of OME spring packs for the rear with an OME AAL. (just have to save up for them).

I installed the OME Darkar spring packs this past Sunday. Overall, I could not be more happy with these new springs. They ride much better then the factory TSB springs with an AAL. They are firm but not harsh and they soak up bumps great. They also handle loads very well. I hauled a bunch of stuff to the beach yesterday and the springs hardly dropped at all. Hopefully they will resist settling and keep the back end up. They did raise the rear about 1/2" but will probably in over time. OME leaf packs FTW! I am very impressed with these springs. I have to be honest, I was concerned about vibrations and about the back being too stiff, but after the installation, I am a believer! No vibrations what so ever, nice ride, very smooth yet firm. And they flex well and handle a load great. Exactly what I was looking for!!! It is one of the best decisions I have made thus far.

It's weird that some people have "zero" vibrations and others can't get rid of them. I have the Dakar springs and can't seem to get rid of the vibs. I've had the 3rd leaf removed and put back on, setup with and without the carrier bearing drop, as well as, with and without the 3 deg shims. All this has moved the vibs around, but they still remain... the good news is that I got it down to a slight vibration when accelerating @ 5mph. Next up... "one piece" drive line.

One piece drive shafts seem to be to cure all when it comes to rear end vibes. I agree that is is kinda funny how some trucks can not have any issues while others have vibrations that are hard to chase down. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Tom Woods makes a nice drive shaft. I know a few guys that are working on a similar product.

Hmmmm I love the tire carrier but I am not sure how that would work with a Shell and dog in the back. What do you think about making a bracket that would hold a tire like this:







I could always mount in flat in the bed like others have done. It would cut down on the bed storage space though.



What are your thoughts? I have never seen a Tacoma owner mount a spare in the bed vertically....I am sure there is a reason for this.

It is hard to find time with a newborn in the house, but I would love to get out soon....

 

^ I have always wanted to try to mount the tire upright light that but havent found a good way to mount it.

 

Maybe Kevin could fab something up for us....I thought it would be the most economical way to mount a spare in the bed. It would allow my dog to access to the back window and still give him room to lay down in the bed. On the downside, it would be an open invitation to potential thieves....

 

can you take another picture from behind with the tailgate down with it stood up in there? i'm just trying to picture it standing there. its just sitting next to the fender hump right??

 

Any advice about installing the front bumper vynil on your old bumper? I hope to do that mod soon.

 

Dang, I would have to take the wheel off for another picture., nuts lol...Yeah, I just have it resting against the front to the bed and fender hump.

Take your time! Seriously, put some soapy water in a bottle and spray as you go. Also be sure to use a sharp razor blade and take lots of measurements. I only cut the sides of the vinyl and pulled the excess down over the bottom of the bumper. I hope this helps.
