Heater fan - weak on hot, strong on cold

So I was driving home this evening, and it was a bit chilly.

Cranked up the heat, seemed like air barely moving out of the vents.

Made sure the dial was set to passenger air (upper registers, no feet, no defrost). Turned fan speed to HI and still barely coming out. Tried all the different register settings, still weak.

THEN I adjust the temp gauge...on cold blowing (or up to "TEMP" aka middle setting) blowing strong, but as soon as I turn to hottest, it's very weak.

Checked all the registers, blows strong. Doesn't seem to matter if cabin air is being recycled or not.

I can hear the "gate" or whatever inside moving/adjusting to direct heat, but heat is still blowing weak

Diagnosis? Solution?

Has anyone done this repair? Easy/hard?

i had the problem with my 08 it turned out to be a piece of foam came loose on the blend door and was blocking the air flow the dealer fixed on a tsb they had to tear the dash out to get to it though

 

FYI, in case anyone else is looking, I believe the TSB for this is:
TSB # T-SB-0072-09 "Decreased Air Volume from HVAC Vents"

Taking my truck in to have this fixed next week.

 

Took my Taco in 2 weeks ago for this, my local SoCal dealer quoted me $850-900 for parts+labor for the repair. Labor hours estimate is 9hrs! Took them about 3-4 days to get the TSB part in. Fortunately I have an aftermarket extended warranty, so hopefully I'll be covered.

Taking it in tomorrow to actually get the work done, we'll see how it goes.

 

Got it fixed by my local dealer last week. It took them 2 entire days: dropped off 8am Thurs morning, pick up Friday just before closing.

Fortunately because I have an extended aftermarket warranty, it only cost me the deductible--$100. Otherwise as I said before $900 repair.

Heat now blows just as strong as cold. Neither is particularly quiet but at least they don't rattle or anything.
