Weird Short Shifter Problem

Bought a URD short shifter and installed it 2 months ago, has been shifting great, but yesterday it started shifting at the stock throw again. I took it apart today to see if something was wrong with the parts. Parts were still intact, but the shaft above the shifter boot has loosened.

I wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem after installing URD's short shifter.

My guess is the shifter internal bushings are worn out. If you grab the shifter knob, with the truck in gear, does the shifter "wiggle"?

 

My 2011 6 speed with only 2500 miles has terrible wiggle when its in gear. but no short shifter. that normal?

 

It will have a little wobble. I have never actually measured it. As the shifter gets older, it will wobble more.

 

There are several things that cause a shifter to wobble but it's not s big deal but as for the throw being lengthened enough to notice, that is strange

 

Stock shifter is a telescopic design with rubber injected between. Acts as a vibration isolator. It can wear out faster with short throw shifter as more force is exerted on the part. Shifter is like $173 for entire unit.
